  1. This thread has garnered me 3 more negatives. Nice.
  2. I just realized VC doesn't host the board and my not have direct access to the database. Email someone at Proboards.com and see what's up! EDIT - The bad database entry is also breaking the search function.
  3. I keep getting negative karma despite the fact I haven't said anything remotely incendiary in weeks. WTF, jerks?!?!
  4. I would assume that the posts are stored in database of some type (MySQL perhaps?). Get in there, find the thread and yank it. It's Title field is probably hosed or something.
  5. Not 100% sure, but I think this was on two different labels.
  6. Shrink wrap actually never stops contracting. Eventually, depending on how tight and thick the wrap is, it can damage the corners and even warped the record. So yeah... open it!
  7. Hmmm... interesting. I didn't compare my new one to my old one. I'll have to check when I get home.
  8. There was a time when I didn't have a stereo that had a phono-in and thus I had no turntable. At that same time I was more interested in buying guitar gear than my record collection, so I sold a lot of it off. One of the records was the Fix "Cold Days" discography LP. Years later I had plenty of guitar gear, so I bought a vintage tube stereo and awesome turntable started putting back together my dismantled record collection. For the longest time (a few years) I couldn't find anyone selling that record (for a reasonable price). I had friends that had it (including the one I sold mine to), but they wouldn't sell it to me. Anyway... I finally get the record. I get home, excited. Put it on my record player, listened to it, thought "Fuck yeah!", and listened to more records. Well, like a retard I didn't consider how hot my stereo gets (tubes get REALLY hot) and had placed it in the white sleeve on the top of it. About 20 minutes into listening to other records I realize this, think "FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" and pick the record. It's so melted that as I lift it off the stereo it falls into a 90 degree angle. I almost cried. The worst warp in the history of warps. I ended up getting another copy from another friend (who wanted the warped record in part of the trade, oddly enough), and of course Touch And Go reissued the Fix stuff a few years ago so all the heartbreak was for nothing, but it still hurts to think about.
  9. It seems like thread 1202572929 took a shit. Maybe one of the mods and find that post and delete it, thus fixing the problem?
  10. Well, I didn't like the new album at all. Having been a huge fan of theirs since the "Hello Bastards" tour, I wanted to love it. I find it unlistenable.
  11. First off, get a small level and make sure your turntable is level. This is very important. If it is level, or if you level it and it still skips, try cleaning the records. A lot of records come with a sandy grit to them these days that could effect play. If after doing this and they still skip, you can try to add more weight to your tone arm, but that should be a last resort since adding more weight could damage the grooves.
  12. $5 is the going price for a 7" in 2008. The fact it's one sided doesn't make it cost less to press. When is this shipping, does anyone know?
  13. Does anyone know if Goodfellow does a special pressing for pre-orders?
  14. Last I looked (admittedly probably a few years ago) Dischord used to have a very nice and very complete discography on their website. Now I can't find it. Does anyone know where it is, or if any other websites have their pressing info from this list?
  15. Seems like a pretty good deal. You can probably sell it on eBay and make a quick hundred or two.
