This repress was put out with the bands permission.

However the same label just put out Shudder to Think's  - Pony Express Record without the bands blessing. I hate that crap!

Depending on their contract with the original label they did the record with, their blessing might not be required for it to be legal.

I got both of these, they sound OK, look nice, but both sound kind of flat in comparison to their respective previous vinyl releases.

Got my copy yesterday.  It's nice to have the complete show, but I'm a little underwhelmed to be honest. Can't compare sound quality to the recent MOV repress of In Case... but this sounded flat to me.  And for the price, I would have expected a bit nicer presentation.  The vinyl is 145 gram, and the sleeve is fairly thin.

That's because In Case.. isn't the true live recording of the show, it was partially re-recorded in a studio and overdubbed to the moon and back, including re-recording and replacing all the vocals (most evident on Thieves which Ogre sang at the show but on In Case... it has Al's vocals on instead).

I saw them on this tour and had countless bootleg tapes of the show including this one (though nowhere near the good sound quality of this new LP release). It always pissed me off how much of that In Case... record was bullshit re-recordings and I've always hated that record as a result.

Needless to say I'm ecstatic with this new live album which is the true live recording of the show. I happily forked over the cash for one despite the crappy cover art.

  3. I bought the shit out of these! I can't wait. I actually approached cevin many many years ago wanting to do a vinyl release of the Doubting Thomas album as it is pretty much my favorite album (and Skinny Puppy has been my favorite band since 1988) but nothing came of it. I'm stoked it is FINALLY getting a vinyl edition and it is being done by artofact who do beautiful work.

  4. Is this version of Jesus Jones authentic? Same singer, band, etc (or mostly the same?) or is it like Pop Will Eat Itself which is just the backup singer and a bunch of new people which equates to them being nothing more than a cover band? I'm genuinely curious and not hurling insults, I had no idea Jesus Jones were still around but I really liked their first two albums and saw them a couple of times back then.

EDIT: Sounds like the same singer to me.
