  1. I agree. In just a short amount of time, RSD has grown into something I'm sure it wasn't intended to be, but I guarantee some of those major releases are going to make the indie stores good money.
  2. I've really wanted to pick up both of the bcwax releases based on packaging and design, they both look fantastic, but just haven't been able to get into either of them enough to justify the price. Hopefully they will keep doing this.
  3. Thanks for the heads up! Will probably wait for S1D or VC to post a preorder...it seems a little early at this point.
  4. Best (sorry for the length, but these bands have never let me down): Thrice, HWM/Chuck, Against Me!, Sparta, mewithoutYou, Cursive, Flogging Molly, Lucero/Ben Nichols, Andrew Bird, The Swell Season, Gaslight Anthem (true, the crowds can be awful, but I always have fun), Iron & Wine Worst: Alkaline Trio (the only time I saw them was Good Mourning tour. They played a super short <1hr set, a poor set as far as I was concerned, and took 1.5hrs to set up fog machines, coffins, etc...huge disappointment)
  5. If I can't score one of the RSD versions, then I'll probably grab that LP+7", assuming it's still around. Thanks!
  6. Could you fit both songs on one side? Wouldn't that save a little money on plating? Then you don't really need to worry about A/B labels also.
  7. This show makes me sad I don't have HBO. I have been to New Orleans tons of times, as my dad's company does most of their business there, and really love the area. I have been a few times since Kartina, but only once when there was still significant debris and and such. I am really interested to see this.
  8. I want to go everywhere. Top two are probably Greece and Ireland. I just want to relax, see the seaside and countryside, and eat some delicious food.
  9. The backers don't get charged until the end date, and only get charged if the goal is reached. It's really a win win, just potentially disappointing.
  10. Agreed. I have no problem fronting money to help get a record released that I would most certainly order anyway. And if this doesn't work out, I will be bummed, but won't be out any cash.
  11. Sounds like Max Weinberg is not part of this tour. Bums me out, and also makes me think this article may actually be more than rumors: http://www.movieline.com/2010/04/exclusive-does-max-weinberg-want-to-be-jay-lenos-new-bandleader.php ...but I'm still not believing it. Edit: apparently it was previously announced that he would not be part of the tour. I missed that, but am still bummed.
  12. That would've been an awesome surprise...
  13. I used to have the Timing is Everything cd. I can't upload it, but if I can find it I'll sell it to you for cheap. If you're interested.
  14. My suggestion is if it's going to be out in the open, get a dustcover or at least a stylus guard that you can leave on while not playing. If it's going to be concealed in a cabinet or something, you're probably safe without. Leaving a stylus cover on is still probably a good idea though.
  15. I'll be at the last date of the tour in Atlanta. Not sure if I want to hear details beforehand or not, but I don't really think I'll be able to avoid it being two months away. I can't wait!
  16. I don't keep mine on, simply because it is inside a glass cabinet, which I keep closed, and there is not enough room on the shelf to open the dust cover. I haven't really noticed any difference in vibration noise since I started doing this.
  17. Sorry, by Merge I meant Spoon's and She & Him's label. The new spoon album is great though, you should be into it given some of what you've listed so far.
  18. http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.com/2010/04/12/how-the-conan-obrien-tbs-deal-happened/?src=busln
  19. Pretty sure Merge's catalog is on emusic, so new Spoon and She & Him (Transference and Volume Two, respectively...)
  20. Also, why does every fast food chain that serves breakfast have better breakfast than lunch?
  21. Because SNL is one of the few shows that can exist with a completely different cast and crew. I think they figure if they ride out the bad, whether it's cast or writers, it has the chance to be really good when some contracts end. Even though I can't tell if you're joking or not, and as much as I don't think this is true, I know that some of my favorite cast lines were absolutely hated when they were current.
  22. For burgers, Whataburger. Then Wendy's. For chicken, definitely Chick-Fil-A. Taco bell is a good cheap choice, but I feel sick every single time I eat there, regardless of what I get.
  23. TBS does have some original shows, but they're pretty terrible. I thought TBS might be one of his options, but the thought of him being back to back with George Lopez caused me to dismiss it pretty quickly. I hope TBS is offering enough for him to bring the same crew of musicians and writers with him.
