thats not true! n.o. has tons of cool promoters. they are just indie/diy promoters. I think as far as diy stuff goes, New Orleans is pretty unique. There is the High Ground which will do bands that draw 3-400 people but a lot of the stuff going there is metalcore which does well. The punk/ska crowd does their own thing and it does well i guess but the bands are more often than not very small. So, this creates an empty space for the in between bands. College shows are few to none which I think is a huge factor. When I was living in CT, UHA and UCONN would always have sweet bands coming through. Also, the High Ground is always available for outside promoters to rent out, which kids never take advantage of. The guys that do the shows in the city do it great but outside of that, there dosen't seem to be much ambition/knowledge/etc to do this stuff. Also, tours skip over here all the time for various reasons. Katrina is a factor in that but when there is only 4-5 constant promoters, they will miss a lot of stuff and agents will just not know to come here.

New Orleans has an extreme lack of promoters.

My roommate basically furnished our apartment thanks to craigslist. We have 3 free couches cause of it. We just got one in good condition along with a HUGE rug unopened for free. The rug ended up being worth like 600 bucks.

I haven't given the new album many spins but the demo and ep are some of my favorite songs to date. I always have the bass part of Adam O stuck in my head haha
