  1. Do these bands have day jobs or is it just not economical to travel seven hundred miles to play to fifteen angry men? If it's just the travel expenses they should group up and play actual venues rather than dive bars.
  2. I want the UK pressing of the Clash S/T. I don't care if it is the original or a repress, but want the songs that are different from the American pressing. I am hoping to get this for something like $20, but don't really know how much these go for.
  3. Exactly. People in New Jersey, New York, or Philadelphia get to see them 5 times a year it seems like. I missed the only Ergs show in Detroit and the rest of them I don't think have ever come.
  4. That is a very good question I do not know the answer to.
  5. This is (mostly) unrelated to this thread, but it is time The Ergs, Steinways, Unlovables, Copyrights, Chinese Telephones, and/or any of the other semi-popular bands from Whoa Oh, Don Giovanni, and It's Alive did a nationwide tour. If you are reading this thread you probably know the bands I am talking about. None of them tour anywhere but their home region.
  6. I'm sure it works out for plenty of people. I think that the whole process is much more efficient if the seller posts a price. If I have twenty dollars that I can spare for records, then I can look through a list of records and pick out the one I want instead of it going like this: $20 for record 1? Too low... $20 for record 2? Too low... $20 for record 3? Deal!
  7. Should post a starting point for negotiations. If you are selling a record then you know best how much it is worth. I am sick of contacting people who say "just make an offer" and wasting my time offering $20 for a $60 record. You can write that you will take best offers, but at least post a starting point for offers.
  8. SAME!!! I also picked up the blue mugwumps 7"+cdr while I was there. Mmmm Steinways + Mugwumps == Best monday of my life! Picked up the pizza pack and the mugwumps on your recommendation.
  9. If I was the seller I would offer it to him for $40 plus the ebay fees on the first auction.
  10. It went on sale a while ago. Damn. Oh well. I was buying a copy for listening anyways, not selling, so color doesn't really matter.
  11. He does already have the test pressing for this release in there for $200 -- that Australian guy could've bought two of 'em! http://www.noidearecords.com/catalog/items.php?search=1&search_words=till%20the%20wheels%20fall%20off I'm hoping that everyone is so caught up on the tour edition that I was able to snag on of the No Idea / 3 or / 8 or / whatever color pressings.
  12. If I was the guy who paid $400 I would just default on the auction. You'd get negative feedback, but you could just accept it or start another account. The police aren't going to come knocking on your door...
  13. I doubt it, I would be impressed if someone did. I have around 55 releases and I feel like its a huige colelction but then I start looking at everything I dont have...wow It would be a shame to spend that much on a record and not go all the way.
  14. I bought a red/white copy direct from the band and it doesn't have a lyrics insert. Is this normal or did I get jipped?
  15. Damn. Must have been a small print run because I don't think it is that old.
  16. Wait you mean the seller bids on their own stuff just to push up the price? That's lame but I don't think Justin would really do that. I saw it on 20/20 or something like that when Ebay was big but still growing. Ebay is so huge it almost has to happen sometimes...
  17. I didn't know they were going for that much. I guess that's why I set my max bid too low on this one and got outbid while I was at work: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260204383013&ssPageName=ADME:B:ONA:US:1123
  18. Maybe I'm being paranoid, but I wouldn't have posted this. I've heard stories of some very shady ebay sellers who make fake accounts to bid up their own auctions. It's risky because they can win their own auction and still have to pay fees, but can be done. I didn't read enough. I didn't realize it was being sold by someone who is known and trusted around here.

  20. I like their stuff, at least what I've heard on Myspace. I saw them at some show Camel cigarettes sponsored at the Magic Stick and tried to buy a cd. They were sold out. I guess I'll be able to pick one up at the Loved Ones show, but I was trying to find one to listen to beforehand so I could know the lyrics.
  21. I believe it's 100 on black, 500 on white/red splatter. There is also a European press of 500 on clear blue.
  22. I'm seeing Hifi Handgrenades with the Loved Ones/Gaslight Anthem, and I wanted to listen to their stuff beforehand. As far as I can tell, they aren't even selling cds right now. Anyone have a cd they want to sell me or to help me to find this in some other way...?
  23. I want the first Chinese Telephones 7" on Dingus Records. Buy or trade.
