  1. Why is it so hard to believe. People collected vinyl long before a few years ago. I have friends who bought multiple copies of MM, NIN, AIC, etc in the 90s. That dude probably has 10 copies

I know the guy. im almost certain its real. because that's totally something he would do to troll the internet. .. he took a picture with 5 copies of the RSD version the other day with the caption "time to make some new place settings"

  2. Bosstones and milkmen might be a bit harder to find as URP didn't press these until a couple of days ago and if I'm not mistaken....ThinkIndie is the only Distro that received copies? (I think maybe URP couldn't even get them to one-stops in time?).....but I'm not 100% on that

we got these out literally at the zero hour... some of the one stops cancelled their orders, but everything was picked up by individual stores who are clients of our distributor.. so they'll both will be widely available.

  3. I wonder what happens to leftover stock that never gets ordered from record stores? Like if a release is a total run of 1000, and the orders from the record stores throughout the entire country only equal 600, what happens to the remaining stock?

I know the record store I go to has a bin of past RSD releases, but I'm talking about ones that were never ordered.

most stuff gets insanely overordered, and the records get allocated. in the event something goes unsold (for instance we had a 30pk of dead milkmen records get delayed in shipping to the distributor) they just get solicited to the RSD stores the next week again

  4. Anyone who worked with United in the early 2000's probably had to deal with that call from Beth telling you that your job has been delayed because of some new Elvis Presley repress that bumped your job.  This was long before RSD and the nu vinyl boom.  This isn't anything new, and bigger jobs, and clients bump smaller ones all the time, in pretty much any industry.  United not taking new clients makes them actually look better than if they continued to take new jobs, and extended the turnaround to even more comical lengths.

Also, our Code Orange and Punch LPs were delayed because the train that they were on derailed.  So yeah.

oh man don't speak ill of Beth.. she rules.  Ive been getting decent turn times from URP for a while now... Rainbo.. now that's an entirely different animal... our last job through them took 9 FREAKING MONTHS
