  1. I work at a pet sitting place and the other night i was doing an over-night...and since there isnt shit to do when you are sitting around someone elses house, I watched an episode of the new American Gladiators, and it was FUCKING AWESOME. Anyone else been keeping up with it. I have to say that Wolf is, without question, the best of the gladiators.
  2. yeah, I was thinking about this, but I think after I bought the cases, it would be cheaper to ship. I'm not so much worried about the Cab, so long as it gets there in one piece...I'm just worried about packaging the head so that the tubes will be OK. I guess I could take the tubes out, or better yet, ship it tublesss and then get it retubed when i get up there since it will need it in about a year, but, i dont know. Anyone know anything about renting gear? thanks.
  3. Anyone have any advice on getting a 4x12 guitar cab and a guitar head from Atlanta to West Philadelphia? I can't drive it because I am flying out of Atlanta into Philly, then Philly into Amsterdam and will be be playing bass with Jena Berlin for their tour with Antilectual, and then need to have my guitar rig in Philly when we get back to play guitar on a tour with a different band. I dont really want to drive my car up to Philly and leave it 665 miles from Atlanta from August 24 through November 14...then drive back to Atlanta. Anyone ever dealt with shipping something like this? I imagine it would cost an arm and a leg, and I really dont want guitar head to end up in West Philly in shambles. anyone?? thanks, - zac
  4. man, this is a total bummer...I've known Renee from since back when she was in Birmingham booking at Cave 9, and she was a total sweetheart to my band and the band we were on tour with, and got us totally decent cash for tour. Bummer.
  5. So i was listening to this today while driving around at work and realized how fucking killer this record is....and how i would much rather listen to it on my turntable as opposed to through my iPhone. I am sure I have seen this on vinyl, but, I dont know anything about the pressing. Regardless, I'd like to get my hands on a copy of the vinyl...dont really care about which press or anything. If you have one and want to get rid of it, let me know. Not much I want to trade, but I could toss you some cash for whatever its worth. Thanks
  6. I really want to see this. I Love Batman. i have to see if my artist has the pictures on his website...or take some pictures or something
  7. A little late in the game...this is on me and is probably one of my favorites, not appalling, but incredibly stupid: I also have a skull wearing an Atlanta Hat, and a whole sleeve/chest piece dedicated to Batman and Gotham City. I will probably be single forever.
  8. I graduated in December with a BA in English and a Minor in Film Studies...I didn't walk because I was going on tour and we were suppose to kick everything off at the Atlantic in Gainesville. Now I walk dogs to pay rent and save up between tours. Ah, "real life."
  9. No Brakes in Atlanta is pretty awesome. Its really small and doubles as a fixed gear bike shop, but Stewart always carries quality shit. you can see everything he keeps in stock here: http://www.nobrakesatl.com/no-breaks-records
  10. Hey guys, I am about to launch a new Vinyl based label here in the near future, and, I am starting to get everything geared up for my first release. The only issue I have is that the first release has two cover songs, and I am a total noob when it comes to licensing and all that stuff. I have put out records and dealt with publishing and copyrights and all that jazz, but I have never done cover songs. I did some reading online, and it seems like that since we are planning on releasing only 500 copies of the record, that for every song under 5 minutes it will cost 8.5 cents per record, per song, and since there are two covers on the record, the grand total would just be $85 for 500 records. That just doesn't seem right to me...that to license 2 songs that were released on major labels, it would only cost me $85. Now, I hope this is the case, but, you know, it just seems like with the way the music industry is constructed, I should expect to hork over a lot more cash for the licensing for this release. Anyone, has anyone on here ever put out a record with cover songs and dealt with licensing? I've read stuff online, but would love to talk to someone who knows the process and what all it takes to get this done. Thanks so much everyone, - Z
  11. Awesome, thanks so much dude. Really appreciate it.
  12. yea, I have both the white and black from the first press, and the pink/white from second press. anyway
  13. So my copies of the re-press of "Get Better" came today, which had me pretty stoked. I pull them out and see that the "Gold/silver" is more of a Brown/Silver. Anyone's records look similar? I wasn't bummed, cause I thought it still looked pretty awesome, but then i noticed that it was cracked up pretty badly. Fucking bummer...our mail dude kinda sucks. Sorry the pictures arent that great, i took them with my iPhone.
  14. The split 7" between Benard (Atlanta, GA) and Worn in Red (Charlottesville, VA) is now available for order through No Brakes Records. The 7" was pressed on 350 black, 120 clear red and 30 clear red with black smoke. For more info, it up No Brakes website: http://www.nobrakesatl.com/no-breaks-records/our-releases Be sure to browse around No Brakes Distro Catalog too, because Stewart carries from really good stuff.
  15. So i was thinking about this...I know a lot of you guys have been collecting for year and years, but some of you guys have just insane collections, and I was wondering what kind of jobs you guys work to support your vinyl collecting? I work for a Dog Walking/Pet Sitting company and make pretty decent money...there hasnt been a record that I have really wanted recently that I havent been able to pick up as long as the price was within reason. It pays the bills, allows for a lot of time off for touring/travel, and lets me buy rad records. I have two friends that really have it made. My buddy runs his own record store/distro out of his bike shop that he does with another one of his friends. They pay there bills off of that, and he basically just gets free records from his ordering. But, my other buddy works two jobs, both at record stores. The first he just doest cashier stuff and gets paid enough...but the other he does inventory for this huge record store...and gets paid in records. awesome. what do all of you guys do?
  16. Alphabetically, then chronologically, left to right, row by row in the Ikea bookshelf thing. 12inches, then 10inches, then 7inches. my roommate gives me shit because all my records are like this, my DVDs are all in alphabetical order, and all my shirts are like this from (left to right): button up shirts (sub-divided by dress shirts, then plaids), collard shirts, long sleeved shirts (sud-divided by colors), then t-shirts, which are all grouped by colors (all the grays stay together, blacks together, whites together, etc etc etc). Do i have a problem?
  17. Does anybody else ever do so many pre-orders that you forget what all you ordered? I was working my ass off all this week because I am broke (which I am sure all the pre-ordering has something to do with...), and three times I came home and had records waiting for me that I vaguely remember ordering a while ago. Its like coming home to free records, because I paid for them months ago. Makes the work week a little less shitty.
  18. Hey everyone, i leave for tour on Sunday and We've got a couple off-days since we had a couple house shows fall through. So, obviously, I am going to be doing some record shopping. Anyone know of any good record stores in these cities? Richmond, VA Virginia Beach, VA New Brunswick, NJ Buffalo, NY thats people, Take care, - Z
  19. Does anyone have an extra or one they want to get rid of, of the Bloodpact exclusive vinyl? I saw a thread about people getting in on this a while ago, but at the time, i wasnt in a position to get in on it (i was broke). I'd be willing to trade my blue or white copy, although it's not my favorite option. Just get back at me, etc etc
  20. thanks so so so sooooo so much dude - Zac
