It's a large amount of pretty dense music to digest in one sitting for sure (and he didn't even include the 20 minute + track)
I think this album has some truly amazing sounds, production value and his song writing skills have only continued to evolve and develop with each album, and I think its all on a completely other level with this release.
However, I did notice the absence of a more upbeat/lively tracks that seemed to occupy the majority of Overgrown, but still, I think its a really strong release that is unfortunately going to be overshadowed by Radiohead.

Damn this album is so beautiful, top tier record from them easily. Really crazy to hear so many songs thats have existed in a live format for a long time realised in such a different way.
Picked up the Special Edition from W.A.S.T.E. and the 2xLP Opaque White to tide me over until September!

So, I guess you were brilliant enough to know about this effect right from the get go? BTW, no one said it was glow in the dark and your summation of what happens basically restated what was already said. Misleading = reading comprehension problem. One thing you are right about, it is cool.
idk why you're being a jerk but okay.
The article states "IF YOU LEAVE BOWIE'S BLACKSTAR IN THE SUN, SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL HAPPENS"
For the starry effect to occur you don't leave it in the sun, how is that not misleading?

I kinda think this whole thing is cool, but a little bit misleading...
The affect occurs when you shine a bright light through the first panel of the gatefold and then starry image is then visible through the front cover die cut.
Has nothing to do with actually leaving it in the sun like a glow in the dark image or something.
Still a cool thing nonetheless but I think the original poster was a bit misleading

I'm surprised so many people didn't like The King of Limbs.
It's such a good record!
I guess people might have been disappointed it wasn't as immediate as In Rainbows maybe?

Oh man...how I hate it when they reissue albums of artists who have just passed away in order to cash in again...
I believe they were planned before his passing, For You and Prince 100% were anyways.
Im thinking maybe the announcement was just brought forward just a little bit, but yeah you're right, WB will be cashing in.

Just saw him a few weeks back at the Sydney Opera House, never heard the crowd so responsive and loud, on their feet and crying out the entire night, he will be missed beyond belief.

Did anyone get the Foals Rain / Daffodils 7" and can tell me if it had a download code? I'm only really interested in getting the mp3s of this release at this point. If so, and someone is willing to share, I'd be very happy!
Mine didn't come with one

Cherry Bomb was on the Record Store Day Australia list this year but wasn't available anywhere at all, so yeah, seems like its in the works at least.
-
Also wanted Xiu Xiu's Twin Peaks but I don't think it made it over to Australia..
I saw a few copies from stores in Melbourne, none made it to Sydney though, not that I saw anyways.
-
Pretty happy with my purchases today!
Wanted to get the CHVRCHES 12" and Best Coast 7" as well but they were pretty overpriced.

I just hope we get to see some cameos of Vader or something during any scenes on the Death Star.
I kind of feel as if his role will be much larger than a cameo.
There have been 'rumours' of him slaughtering rebels (like in battlefront) in some scenes.
Would make sense to see something like that considering none of these main characters were in the OT...

can someone help me understand where Rouge One falls in the timeline of the movies? Is it before/during the 4-6?
Just before episode 4

ah that looks so fantastic!
Love the entire aesthetic that they're going for, works perfectly.
Casting seems pretty great too.
Especially excited to see more from Ben Mendelsohn's character, looks so sinister!

KWPABLOLP is the exact kind of fake catalogue number that Vinyl Digital uses, surely they're the ones putting it together.

Come and hang out with me. I live in Enmore which is a 5 minute walk to Newtown. We have several records stores that will cater to every taste.
Newtown is a 10 minute bus ride to the Sydney CBD where the harbour bridge, opera house, circular quay and darling harbour is.
Any idea where you're staying?
Taronga zoo is a good time. Catch a ferry from circular quay over the harbour to the taronga wharf. Takes about 10 minutes. Another good day out is walking from the opera house, over the bridge to luna park. It's a coney island style fun park with a few rides and the best ferris wheel in the world.
There also a ridiculous number of amazing bars, pubs and restaurants. I work at a place that makes (IMO)sydneys best burgers. It's set inside a pub that began in 1881.
And far too many national park walks/hikes/scenery thing to even mention that are a short drive away.
And theres also another two wildlife parks about 45 minutes drive too, where you can feed our native animals, hold snakes, baby crocodiles etc..
Pretty much this, Newtown/Enmore for sure.
Curious to know where these best burgers are at, I have had some damn good burgers in Sydney before...

Think I'm going to need to hear more before I PO this, song was interesting though, pretty New Order-esq.
But kudos to her for trying out something drastically different from her previous work.
As much as I love Dum Dum Girls I could feel the sound getting a bit stale.

Lorde - Pure Heroine - 1500 copies on clear vinyl - $37.99
Crazy crazy price, the conflict is that I have a complete Lorde collection so far...
-
I'm thinking about picking up the Newbury-exclusive repress of Blue Velvet OST. Does any have this and can speak to its quality?
I really enjoy my copy, really nice and full pressing. Pretty surprised its still available to be honest.
-
Pretty sure I remember a someone on here posting a 2xLP pre order on amazon for a December release, the 2nd LP included the songs from the out of print 'Love Club' 10". I had a look for the listing the other day but could not find it.
Interestingly, Newbury Comics mentioned there is a Lorde exclusive release coming soon so maybe we will be getting a 2xLP coloured repress.
