  1. Across "The Far Field"’s twelve chest-pounding love songs and odes to the road, Future Islands brilliantly express the band’s central themes they’ve been exploring for the last decade: that there is power in emotional vulnerability, that one can find a way to laugh and cry in the same breath – and be stronger for it.

  2. First listen I was a little bit hesitant about the direction of it all, but just finished my second listen and it somehow it all clicked. Really fantastic album.

Also find that this record is mastered extremely well, the bass is so powerful but so clear.

I got a free A2 mirror poster with my copy too, so excited to get that all framed up as well.

Just got home with a copy from HMV. Not happy with it at all. It's covered in marks and smudges and skips about 20 seconds in. Just wondering if anyone else has had something similar as exchanging it has me concerned, especially since I live 25 miles from the nearest store and don't want a repeat scenario.

I have been through two copies already, cant decide if I try for a third copy or just get a refund. First copy had an insane amount of non-fill, covering around 75% of the A side (so constant audible pops and cracks throughout every song). Exchanged it for another copy, a few scuffs and dirt on this copy, but insane distortion and crackle on the last tracks on both sides.

  4. I don't believe this has been posted yet?

"A vinyl release has been announced for the soundtrack’s first volume. It’s available on October 28 in the U.S. via Lakeshore Records and in the UK via Invada. The double LP comes in a gatefold sleeve that includes a printed insert featuring album credits and additional art. Colour variant pressings will be available. Details on the vinyl release of the soundtrack’s second volume, as well as a 4xLP limited edition box set from Invada featuring both volumes of the soundtrack, will be announced “soon.”"

This appears to be in the wild already; if you follow this Discogs link, there are pictures of the labels and the inner sleeve: https://www.discogs.com/Nick-Cave-The-Bad-Seeds-Skeleton-Tree/release/8989572

To listen or not to listen if it leaks? Still not sure. I'm looking forward to this more than any other album in recent memory.

I'm going to wait until I see the movie, will be worth the wait I think.

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds’ sixteenth studio album, Skeleton Tree, will be released globally on vinyl, CD and across all digital platforms on 9th September 2016.

Skeleton Tree began its journey in late 2014 at Retreat Studios, Brighton, with further sessions at La Frette Studios, France in autumn 2015. The album was mixed at AIR Studios, London in early 2016.

The first opportunity anyone will have to hear any of the songs from the album will be to watchOne More Time With Feeling, directed by Andrew Dominik (Chopper, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Killing Them Softly). The film will screen in cinemas across the world on 8th September 2016, immediately prior to the release ofSkeleton Tree the following day.

Originally a performance based concept, One More Time With Feeling evolved into something much more significant as Dominik delved into the tragic backdrop of the writing and recording of the album. Interwoven throughout the Bad Seeds’ filmed performance of the new album are interviews and footage shot by Dominik, accompanied by Cave’s intermittent narration and improvised rumination.

Filmed in black-and-white and colour, in both 3D and 2D, the result is stark, fragile and raw
