I just finished watching the first season of Under the Dome and August Osage County.  Someone please kill me now.  Under the Dome was enjoyable enough until the season cliffhangers.  That junk pisses me off.

 

AOC was just terrible all the way through.  Won't ever get that two hours back.

This is great.  I grew up woodworking with my dad.  I currently have my own wood shop in my garage.  Designed and built this for my storage cabinet.  It turned out really nice I think.  The side cube things slide over to keep dust off the turntable when not in use.  I know sound quality's not going to be good with the open space below the table, but I prefer aesthetics of the piece over the tiny bump in sound quality.  Sorry for the HUGE PICTURE.

I absolutely love this album.  Seems to get better with every listen.  And even if it is more of an experimental Bon Iver record, it's fantastic.

THIS times a million. i hear your pain. feel it too. it cost me a lot to learn this shit. most people list on their site "i prefer the outdoors' well asshole, you dont have a set up and dont know how to run one.

 

then they pick the font papyrus as a watermark thats in like 20pt across the whole bottom.

I understand your frustration with the photography industry and paying way too much to learn a trade that others just pick up and do (albeit really, really poorly) without any formal training and still make money from it.  That sucks.  

 

But I personally love the fact that photography is so readily accessible.  Literally ANYONE with $100 can pick up a decent camera and take decent photos.  It's great that our society is so image-friendly and that anyone can create images of what they see around them.  It's really interesting to be able to see anything from another person's perspective and the accessibility of photography is one of the things that really pushes that boundary between another person's eyes and yourself.  Not that everyone charging for their services deserves the money they're getting paid.  Because I'd say 75% of them don't.

 

That said, stay-at-home moms who have etsy shops/shit-websites with terrible photographs are the worst...

I consider photography a hobby.  But it's a hobby that I really enjoy and I would love to make a living doing.  Maybe someday right?

I made it through Mr. Nobody last night.  I'm undecided on it.  I was entertained through most of it, and I have found myself thinking about it a couple times today.  So maybe that's a good sign.

Really love this band, anybody that likes Arcade Fire and/or indie rock (especially orchestral based) should really check them out.

 

In the details of the Kickstarter page it says White Lighter will be a Special Edition Gatefold LP on White Vinyl with Red/Yellow Splatter, which should match the cover art nicely. I assume the regular/retail version will be on standard black vinyl, but don't know that for certain.

 

I also missed out on Hunger & Thirst on vinyl, which made me happy/excited to see this statement at the bottom of Tender Loving Empire's news post in May about Typhoon leaving TLE for Roll Call Records:

 

"TLE will be reissuing 180 gram colored vinyl editions of Typhoon’s Hunger & Thirst (on red vinyl) as well as A New Kind of House (on chocolate brown vinyl) in the very near future."

I hit up the preorder on kickstarter for the new record, everything I have heard so far sounds good. I have been looking for Hunger and Thirst on Vinyl for months and have not found one anywhere. I saw the reissued it for the kickstarter project but its only available at the 150$ level and up.

 

I saw that too.  I was really surprised Hunger and Thirst sold out.  I was sitting on that forever, and I waited too long.

Yeah man, it was a rad show either way. I just really despise the newest few singles. I also watched two girls sell their bodies to a bouncer to get a decent standing spot.
