I have already emailed him and asked. But i will keep you posted on what i hear. I grew up in st. pete and have the cotton mather 7" on black. but didnt ever see any other pressing. If you are an expert and dont know about it, i would assume it would be the 4 way split. which is fine because i dont have that, but it would be nice to come up with some crazy rare ep.

If you're into record collecting and you're complaining about limited numbers I think you might be in the wrong game. Not that you have to collect rare stuff to be into records, but most people do. If you don't, surely you have some more rare releases you'd trade for my standard, available everywhere black?
Even if there were 1000 pressed, this still would have sold out quickly, and there would inevitably be a bunch of people who missed it. So does there being 400 and not 1000 really make it that much better? People will miss out no matter what. Such is life. Such is record collecting.

I could have probally done a lot of things different to make others/collectors happy, but that wasn't the intention from the beginning for this idea. the colors were chosen based off colors of our wedding, and the numbers were chosen because I only wanted 500, so that only gives me so many options. im sure I could've done 1000+ and it would've sold. I promise if there is ever more of this, it wont be on 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, colors etc
 
at first this it was only gonna be /100 invitations only. but then I wanted people to hear it. so 500 it was haha

So I saw these guys last night and they out on an awesome show. So much energy in the room. Got to talk to Ryan after the show about the new album. He said it is more of a progression off of Maps than EOTWN was. He said that the last record had a lot of typical pop punk elements to it. Basically Ordinary Silence is the album that should have followed Maps. They are going to be touring in support of this record a lot more than they did for the last album. As a huge fan of Maps this just makes me even more excited for this album. Cant wait!

So I've been a vegetarian for about 6 months, and I just spent the weekend at a bearding competition in Cleveland.

The one thing I noticed is that the guys with enormous beards had bacon as the staple of their diet, which makes sense considering hair is just fat covered protein, and bacon is just fat and protein.

So I am going to experiment and see whether a high-bacon (read ALL-bacon) diet actually has an effect on facial hair growth as well as weight-loss. I imagine that the weight will fall off, as this is no different than an Atkins diet, but it will be interesting to see whether or not it plays an effect on the quickness of facial hair growth.

Today is day 3, and frankly, bacon all day is awesome (and my wife HATES it, because she is maintaining her vegetarian diet and the kitchen always smells wonderful).

it was just a digital release for the tour theyre doing with uncommen men from mars. the shell corporation songs though will be on their new full length out this fall, possibly late summer depending on how long the plant takes

Preorders will go up early next week, and all orders will ship the last week of April! I'm getting married in July, this 7" celebrates that, and its part of my invitations! Couldn't be more excited!

just spent the morning spinning these with my old lady... so pleased with this boxset.

The 12lp sets are all the colors of the regular set, 2 per album
we will put those sets together Saturday and start shipping them out Monday
by Monday we should be caught up on orders, I think we have about 12 international
orders to box up and a few orders we've gotten in the last couple of days and then
the 12 lp folks and then we'll take a breather and maybe start putting the rest of the
sets up on ebay or if I can get it set up, we plan on creating a web page to sell from
we'll keep you guys informed. We also have something very cool in the works for the
TBR box set that we'll be announcing later today.

I worked at a record store for a year. Not an expert but here are some things:

Organize your records. You don't have to resort everything, everyday, but have your stuff clearly marked. It's annoying to show customers where something is five times a day because there aren't clear signs indicating genres, new/used, etc. I personally prefer having mixed new/used records in genres but that's your call.

Track your inventory. Just because 45's and 7"s are cheap doesn't mean you don't need to keep up with them. The place I worked doesn't even inventory 45's so they can't know how things are selling.

Keep used CD's (if you're going that route) behind the counter. Too easy to steal. Keep them in little paper sleeves, assign #'s to them and keep inventory.

If you sell online too, pull the records that are listed on ebay/amazon/discogs aside/keep in the back. Too many times you sell something that's on the shelves and then if the record hasn't been sold in the store, you can't find the fucking thing when looking for it because people move shit around.

In-stores, even terrible bands, are good ways to get people in the building.

Once you build up some loyal customers, let the good ones know it by knocking a few bucks off if it they're spending a good amount of money.
 
Make sure if you're pricing some things higher because it's local and rare that you know you'll get it what you're asking. I don't think it's wise to put a 30-40% markup on it to just keep it in the store, especially if a kid can get it cheaper and it's readily available online. You want to help people get in the mode of buying from a mom/pop shop.

I'm sure there's more things, other dudes can elaborate. These were just things that stood out to me.

Put a fuckin' bathroom in it. So many record stores don't have a fuckin' bathroom. People need a fuckin' bathroom.
