  1. Have fun with warped vinyl a few years down the line with keeping a record sealed. It can't breath in the shrinkwrap, and the temperature changes will cause it to shrink, and warp the record.

In his defense, this doesn't happen nearly as much as people think. Substantial temp changes will warp a record the same whether sealed or unsealed. In my experience, most sealed records keep pretty well as long as you treat them nicely. But, I get that people want to throw whatever neg vibes they can at people who scored a copy of a record they weren't as fortunate to get.

  2. Looking at the thread headings -Stoner, Post-rock,90s alternative, etc. - I would assume so.

Also since I have never heard of most of these "bands" mentioned , this appears to be a forum for them what be wet-behind-the-ears when it comes to music ???

Please confirm and then I will not waste effort here.

What is the average poster age?

Does progrock, fusion, (non-dancetrance) EM,jazz, hard/heavy,classical have any chance here?

    It would appear not.

Most vinyl or audiophyle forums are pathetic when it comes to taste.

I don't see any prospect of light here either.

I'd like to know what bands you are actually into, rather than being defined by general statements about what you hate. Chances are, you've got *some* common ground with many of us on this board. But really... just don't be a dick about it.

  3. I bit the bullet and ended up ordering both records. I have yet to listen to them, so no word about the sound quality yet.

Here's the deal: don't buy it. $25 for a regular LP with a thin, flimsy packaging. Yeah, I could smell greed but expected, at least, a heavy cardboard to at least justify a bit of this "deluxe" pricing. In the end, my fault and won't go on complaining but at least must recommend people to avoid supporting this kind of trick.

The deluxe 2xLP version with colored vinyl and lenticular cover is worth the inflated $38 or so it's going for, IMO. Kinda strange that the regular version is split up into two separate LPs.

  4. It was obviously a glitch, and even if it wasn't, it was obviously a mistake on someone's part. I don't believe negative feedback is warranted. People/Machines make mistakes. Am I bummed? Of course, but sometimes things are too good to be true. If any of you are planning on leaving negative feedback, then please post your ebay name, so I know not to do business with you in the future, in case I were to make a mistake.

If Hastings weren't already one of the most unorganized major media retailers, I would agree. But having been a frequent customer of theirs for years now, both in-store and online, I can say they make these kinds of mistakes regularly. In my experience, this isn't some outlier event, this kind of thing happens constantly in-store. I won't leave negative feedback if they refund me, but it'll be one more knock against Hastings for me.

  5. I keep seeing this chick's name everywhere. I saw her open for Lana Del Rey this summer, and had never heard of her. She was flat out terrible...like...real bad. She would literally just start screaming into the mic at random points in several of her songs, and people would go ape shit. I think I'm just old, and don't get it, b/c a large part of the crowd seemed to really dig her set.

I'm the opposite. I love Grimes, but think Lana Del Rey is ridiculously contrived and boring. But different strokes, I guess.
