Trampled By Turtles Merch at Shows
gutzonborglum replied to manicdogbert's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Yes it is. And if you've ever been to Duluth/have grown up in Duluth, the song, 'Duluth' is amazing. It almost puts me in a comatose state when I hear it. Such a gift when I saw them play it in Raleigh last year. -

Start with Songs From a Ghost Town and work your way up with 'Blue Sky And The Devil', 'Trouble', 'Duluth', then 'Palomino'. Each album is amazing in its own right. My personal favorite is 'Songs From a Ghost Town', but that's just because it was right when the album came out and I was seeing them play all over Duluth in '03, '04. I've still got their first t shirt design and a little beer coozy. Honestly though, just listen to them. Any album will do. -

The Slow Death/SSSSNAKES - 7"

So there is still a Traffic Street label? Sam just won't be heading it anymore? So albums have a chance to get repressed, but will any new material still be put out on it? -
about to play "Silver Zephyrs" on turntable.fm. haha! really liking this album, but i've been following her since 2003 or so. Yeah, me too. I used to see her all around Duluth in the early '00s. In my opinion, nothing she does will top 'The Size Of Planets', but this new album really coming close to it

The Slow Death/SSSSNAKES - 7"

Yup. Sam at Traffic Street has had a looot of stuff going on in his life, and ultimately had to shut down Traffic Street. He shipped off all his inventory to KOD, who also took over the last of the releases, including this one, and is also fulfilling all the orders made through Traffic Street. I hope Sam's taking care of himself. -
Haley Bonar's 'Golder' is an amazing album. One of my favorites for this year for sure.

O Pioneers!!! Final Tour
gutzonborglum replied to bluessinger's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I really wish I could make it up to the VA date. I would really, really love to catch these guys before they disband/morph into Black Clouds. If they've got some kind of limited vinyl/cover or cd or whatever, I'd gladly reimburse you + for your trouble. Can't imagine what they may have, if anything, but you never know with Eric and his screen printing wizardry. -
Black Friday 2011 Releases

Very true. I found a lot of Let It Be's prices to be through the roof, though. -
Black Friday 2011 Releases

Reckless has a polarizing reputation amongst a few people in the city. For some folks, it's almost like the FYE of indie record shops since there are three and they have things arranged in such a way (i.e. organized and for the most part, have their crap together). For folks like me, I go there several times a week because of the near constant turn over in records and the insanely awesome prices on used (which is what I buy 99% of the time - any time I see a new 7" or LP I want, I wait it out for a bit because I know that a used copy will float in). This sounds a lot like Cheapo records in MPLS/St. Paul -

Isn't the White Wives album something like 12 or 13.99 through Adeline? Just asking. I've been holding off on grabbing this on vinyl, and would have jumped if it was 9.99, or 11.99. But 16 bones plus shipping? I'll keep spinning my cd. -
