i think it's fair to say everyone is interested in different things when it comes to collecting vinyl. personally, i want the trust lyrics etched on my record because i'm a giant fan of that song (as well as the band). you might not see that as a big deal and that's cool, just like i don't care for collecting every single variant something comes out on. so for thrice, i buy it to look at and to listen. with every other musician though, i mostly only buy to listen. as for the cost, i think some people are asking for a lot because: 1) they don't want to let it go unless it's for a giant profit 2) the new record's given the band some new/revived attention so people are capitalizing off that i wanted it now, so i paid the guy who asked for the least and it was still a bit over the average on popsike, but oh well. it wasn't on an auction site so it's not going to screw up other peoples' reference for price setting. is yours black or gold? i'm just merely curious now.

huh, ya, it sounds like it's not so consistent with the black copies. I picked a gold one up off amazon a couple days ago for a pretty penny (although definitely not the "couple hundred" some people were asking. the guy who sold it to me had no idea it was etched until I asked him, too, haha.

ya no kidding about that mini harp. I bought it because I thought my kid would like it but it's too small so I'll have to wait until she's a little older before I give it to her. I still think it's cute and a nice, unique thing to make a bundle out of though. I also got a couple coasters. overall, my record was packed fine but my mini harp was also floating around in the box outside of its case. I just listened to the record this morning and liked it.

what store is that? if more people can confirm the black ones have the etching, i'll just save myself a bunch of money and get one of those. also, glad you mentioned there's a sticker on the limited edition colored ones. i think that's what i saw in some google images, but they're so small, i couldn't read them and be sure.

do you mean etched in the matrix? i looked on my black copy and there wasn't anything there. ya, i'm assuming that's where it should be. someone with a black copy says his has it. just wondering if they're all like that or just his. i'm trying to figure out the differences between the 2 other than just the color. thanks for your reply.

i had one more question about this release on vinyl. it's been brought to my attention that the black copies might have "you can save my life" and "you could snap my neck" etched on each side of the record like the gold ones do. is this true? Are they the numbered version?! If so, will you pick one up for me? I'll toss you a couple extra bucks for the work! pretty sure there's only one left now after i got mine and i only had my friend buy one.

just gotta say, this dude rules. i was able to get a copy of beggars from the AK store for waaaaay cheaper than what they're going for on ebay. thanks man. i think there's a guy out there with multiple accounts who is buying expensive records and not paying...

By posting a non-stock photo, you're claiming ownership of the photos you provide. More or less. i see what you're saying. i was wondering if it had to be copyrighted or if it was only bad if they stole another ebayer's photo. since he must've lifted it off here or another board i go to, i wasn't sure. oh well. if it happens more, i'll probably do something about it, mostly because it's weird to me, but i'll forget about it for now since that auction is already over anyway. i can't believe someone actually paid $100 for it.

you know what? now that i think about it, i think there were separate choices to order a t-shirt bundle or just the 3xLP. i tried to do the latter first but the site wasn't letting me. it would only let me choose the t-shirt bundle so i just said fuck it since i kind of liked the tee anyway and i didn't want the record to sell out before the kink got worked out (i didn't have time to check constantly). so i'm sure i paid more than everyone to get that shirt. sorry, it was kind of a while ago so i didn't remember until now. oh and +1 at thinking it should say black crosses somewhere on it. oh well. first world problems.

i got the same message for the chuck ragan split on white. i emailed them and they said it's a system problem that thinks it's out of stock even if they haven't received the item yet. they reassured me that it will come in about a week before the street date and i should have it a few days after. since then, i've probably had 3-4 more emails telling me it's "out of stock", but i'm not worried about it anymore.

you know what's more ridiculous? they weren't BIN prices. they were opening bids. no one bought the sealed beggars albums, but someone did put in the $45 bid for the sealed IOS. i figured the same as you in regards to it going for more if there was a good chance it was gold. at the same time, i thought maybe the seller had the beggars albums going for more because they were sealed and autographed. he/she also had an opened beggars that started off at $0.01 and ended up going for $61.

i figured that was likely. before i started the thread, i kept trying to see if i could tell on the photos of LPs with stickers if it said anything that indicated it was gold. haha. i asked the person selling their sealed copy a bunch of questions but it didn't go anywhere. you guys have been more helpful, so thanks.

got my lavender/clear copy of hwm. pretty happy with it.

i had to look it up because i forgot. it was $51.50 ppd. as you said though, for 3LPs, the booklet and shirt, it's not terrible. everytime i hesitate on something i like because of cost, it sells out and i can't get it again for similar to its original price. (examples: JEW bleed american color and thrice alchemy index). against me! could be different though since their releases tend to float around a lot...

thanks. i passed on an auction where someone was selling a sealed copy for $45. i didn't want to chance getting a black one for that much when it can be easily had for less coming from the UK. lol. the person was also selling sealed 1st pressings of beggars for $125. i appreciate the answer regarding both though. when i google searched images of the two, it looked like the gold had a hopeless recs sticker on the shrink wrap and the black one didn't but it could've just been a coincidence and the black ones could've just had it removed already.

ya, it was pricey. i think i justified it because i figured i'd like the colors and i do, it goes well with the packaging. i didn't already have white crosses (other than picking up the CD on a whim) and i kind of wanted the shirt. i still like the shirt design, but i don't like the cut. i got a girls' small and normally, it's not problem but on this one, the arm holes are weird. there's been too many other records i passed on initially that ended up going for more than original price later on, too. i'm sure if you're patient, you'll find a good deal though...

i don't have mine yet. some complications arose where i never got a tracking number because the system thought i had already received mine (when actually i got the non-screenprinted one by mistake). then i guess their internet/computers were down so they couldn't mail it to me or respond to my email.................. and now i haven't heard from them. i'm not so excited about this anymore.at.all.

is there any way to tell the difference between a gold and black version of this LP if it's sealed? like is there a different bar code, sticker, etc on the packaging? thanks for any help you guys might have.
