I've never seen Saad as a poor defensive player. He excelled as a kid in Quenville's system and that's not a guy who let's anyone slide easy. He went with 4 dmen almost all playoffs because 2 were only okay. That's a tough guy to play for. This team gives up 6 goals now like it's nothing. I think defensive style would be much welcomed. They don't really have any defence with real offensive prowess or a signature to their game. Time to mold that D into a tough, fast, shot blocking machine and let the forwards worry about offence. I'm excited to see how this goes.

I would vote to remove short handed points and to not add face-off wins. If I had it my way I'd remove blocks as well

It'll get better. Teams are still testing the waters. Clearly the 3 forwards isn't going to work it's just too chaotic. I think by November you're going to see d-man, defensive forward and young speedy sniper and a more conservative game.

This is one of the most poorly handled situations I've ever seen from every camp. As for hockey, love the 3v3 OT. Remember too we haven't really seen two legit NHL 3v3 squads face-off yet. Once more pros get in there it'll be a little smoother I think. Puck Daddy posted a great article about how the idea of the 3 forward OT is going to kill teams. Forwards just don't have the cap control/backwards skating/focused defensive knowledge that is taken for granted. Used that absolutely atrocious gap control on that Cracknell OT winner the other night as a good example. But yeah, fuck the shootout
