  1. Custody - Blistered Soul 7" 2 records from PopKid in 1 year. It's a god damn miracle. Custody are from Finland and although we've put out records by bands from many different countries, Finland is another first for PopKid. Blistered Soul is their 2nd 7" and contains two of the most incredibly catchy songs we've ever had the pleasure of putting the PopKid logo on. Custody channels the song composition and hook building of peak mid-90's Samiam and combines it with ear shredding guitar dynamics that make us think of PopKid alumni Starmarket. The vocals are pitch perfect and while they share the same power and earnestness of a band like Iron Chic, the remarkable way they stay melodic and don't resort to shouting while conveying this intensity is something unique to Custody. We couldn't be more excited to welcome Custody to the PopKid family. The 7" is available on 3 different colors of vinyl for $6 each: Solid Yellow (Limited to 101 Copies) Green/Blue Marble (Limited to 103 Copies) Reddish Magenta Marble (Limited to 103 Copies) We also have a few limited packs of all 3 colors for the collectors out there. You get 3 copies of the 7", one on each color of vinyl at a slightly discounted cost, plus you get a Custody Koozie (Kooztody?) if you order this pack for $16.50. As a special "hey let's get your money's worth out of the postage costs" deal, you can also buy any PopKid Records back catalog 7" for $1 as an add on if you pick up the new Custody record. Help us clear out some space and raise some money for more new records. Purchase the record from our webstore here: http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/custody-blistered-soul-7-3-colors-of-vinyl Stream both songs and buy the digital version on our Bandcamp page here: https://popkid.bandcamp.com/album/custody-blistered-soul PopKid is the lucky label releasing this record in North America. If you're outside of America, you probably have a label that's a little bit closer that is also releasing this record: Available in North America from PopKid Records Available in the UK from Different Kitchen Records Available in the Netherlands from Shield Recordings Available in Germany from Keep it a Secret Records Available in Japan from Waterslide Records Also, don't forget we still have the Chestnut Road LP from a couple of months ago still for sale. If you dig Leatherface, Broccoli, Hooton 3 Car or Jawbreaker, definitely worth checking out!
  2. I was thinking the other day that there aren't a ton of posts about bands I really like, but I wasn't posting any myself. Trying to fix that, maybe it'll bring others out of the woodwork.
  3. This is up for order at the It's Alive records website: http://www.itsaliverecords.com/store.htm Such a great band.
  4. I've recently had to replace my Dual CS 606 turntable. I replaced it with another Dual CS 606. Here is my question. On my old one I had an Ortofon OM5E. The new player came with an Audio Technica AT51E. Is there a consensus on which is the better cartridge? No matter which one I use, I will have to replace/upgrade the stylus as both are ready to be replaced. Having just put down the money for the new turntable and new speakers, my budget won't allow one of those OM 20+ styluses. My max would be the OM 10, or a comparably priced AT stylus. While I was able to find quite a bit of info on the Ortofon online, info on the Audio Technica one has been harder to come by. I know some may say to just listen to each and pick the one I think sounds better, but again, both are somewhat worn so I was curious if others had any opinions. Thanks!
  5. Buy a copy of the Chestnut Road LP today and get some extra PopKid back catalog as a bonus. http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/chestnut-road-lpii-orange-vinyl I had someone describe it to me as Bivouac era Jawbreaker meets Mix era Leatherface. I was totally fine with that description.
  6. If anyone orders a copy today, I'll toss in a few PopKid back catalog releases as part of a Record Store Day deal. Or something. #marketing
  7. Excellent, thanks for the order. I've always felt Gan was terribly underrated, though we did sell quite a few of those 7"s to Japan. We've sold a good amount of the LPs and it's not going to be repressed. So if anyone wants one, take a listen and grab a copy!
  8. Great, thanks for checking it out. We're through about a quarter of the Chestnut Road LPs, thanks to everyone that's picked up a copy!
  9. Hey that's a good score on the Horace Goes Skiing 7". We're all out of those. We did find about 100 of the Horace Goes Skiing full length CD, so if you dig the 7", there's more tunes available for you. Definitely check out Chestnut Road, if you like our other stuff, I'd be surprised if you didn't like them too. Thanks for the support!
  10. Chestnut Road is good stuff, especially if you dig the UK strain of punk rock from the mid 90's.
  11. Drunken Sailor is repressing Home by Broccoli. But that's later, Chestnut Road is out now!
  12. PopKid Records is putting out our first new release in over 10 years. On top of that it's our first ever full length album on vinyl. We're pretty excited about it and wanted to tell as many people as we could. This album is by a wonderful band from France called Chestnut Road. I have been a gigantic fan ever since their very first 7" and have just watched in amazement as they get better and better with each release. Their new album is their second full length and is also their second self titled release. We're calling it LPII as a nickname. This is a band playing dynamic and passionate melodic punk rock. The kind of punk rock that I just adore. They would be right at home in a mid 90's UK punk collection along side of bands like Leatherface, Broccoli and Hooton 3 Car. If you're into US bands like Jawbreaker or to a lesser extent Hot Water Music, I would think these guys may be up your alley as well. Scott from the band Porcelain Boys said they sounded like "Bivouac meets Minx - Circa 2016" The LP is on orange vinyl and is available to purchase right this very second here: http://popkidrecords.bigcartel.com/product/chestnut-road-lpii-orange-vinyl Digital downloads also on our Bandcamp page here: https://popkid.bandcamp.com/album/chestnut-road-lp-ii This is a co release with 2 other fantastic labels. PopKid is handling North America. In Europe, the record will be available from Brassneck Records and in Japan, you can pick it up from Snuffy Smiles. Thank you for reading, sorry for the intrusion and just to recap: Chestnut Road - LP II - Now Available: Available in North America from: PopKid Records - popkidrecords.bigcartel.com / popkid.bandcamp.com Available in Europe from: Brassneck Records - brassneckrecords.bigcartel.com Available in Japan from: Snuffy Smiles Records

  14. Up for sale on Snuff's website. http://www.snuffband.com/demmamussabebonk-20th-anniversary Based on the MP3s sent out, it looks like this will be a reissue of the Deceptive records version that has a different track order and a different (and in my mind, better) mix of the record than the US version on Fat. It's a little pricey with overseas shipping, but figured others may be interested in this as well as most in the US aren't as familiar with this version.
  15. Ordered as usual. Can't leave a Chestnut Rod record unbought...
  16. Killer band, killer label. Preordered as soon as I saw it!
  17. I love this record. This is a band that deserved more attention.
  18. They are pretty much the best band in the world. No record collection is complete without Mush, though Minx does have my favorite Leatherface song on it (Do The Right Thing).
  19. I didn't see any topics about this having come out. Apologies if it's a repost. I liked Piebald, this is pretty good too: http://www.chainlettercollective.com/shop/be197gvxstr1aa6gs840m78jjnydbd
