My copy showed up today - no shipping notice, just a package in the mail. The artwork is a little fuzzy - and, unless I'm remembering incorrectly, it's weird that they back doesn't say "Side 1" and "Side 2" on the track list like the back insert of the CD does. My copy is packed away so I can't check, but I seem to remember it being like that - and it's hard to believe it took 17 years for this to get pressed, but I'm super excited. (It's also hard to believe this record is almost 17 years old, but that's another story.) Spinning now and it sounds fine - nothing amazing, but perfectly solid and worth the price.

Tickets for the first reunion show on 3/29 in Brooklyn went on sale today. Sold out in under 3 minutes but I managed to snag a pair. I think I may explode with excitement long before the show gets here.

This is my first winter in Jersey and while it is cold, back home in upstate NY they're dealing with 20+" of snow right this very second. Don't miss that one bit.

Wins all around!

That happened to me when I ordered the Sylver Tongue 12" & CDS from Dancing Coins in the UK - it was double the shipping when I added the CD single, which came in a card sleeve and ended up inside of the 12" sleeve during shipping anyways. So it's entirely possible that's why, even if it's a pretty lame reason.

I wasn't going to get the mail order Men LP after being a bit disappointed in the wraparound for the 7", but the bonus CD sucked me in. Well played, Sacred Bones.

So I take it these are going out without shipping notifications then?

Sealab fell apart at the end, but the first three seasons were consistently brilliant. Flashes afterwards, of course, but not at the same level. Of the early Adult Swim shows, though, Brak will always have my heart. (Which, of course, has nothing to do with Archer.)

If it wasn't for Jason Penopolis, then yes.

Blur had better do at least one east coast show while they're over here. If they pull a Suede, I'm going to be very, very upset.

Season 1 was fantastic and they always kept you guessing as to where they were going to go. Season 2 is what happens to a show with no expectations going into it now being shackled with expectations. It was still very, very enjoyable but it got pretty ridiculous at times to keep amping up the tension. I'm still on board for season 3, but I'm approaching it with caution rather than the blind excitement I felt going into the second.

Thanks for posting that. Saves me a trek out to Other Music in the 15 degree weather to come back empty handed. Guess it's the stream rip I made for another week for me.

Tunes in Hoboken got the CD but not the LP. Grr.

I was hoping to pick up my copy later this afternoon, but perhaps that won't be possible if they're not out there yet. Hmm. Excited for the tour - two NYC area shows, neither at stupid Terminal 5 this time. Win/win!

They posted something on Twitter about seeing NYC again in March, so I imagine they're headed here soon after those European dates end.

That does look really nice and any fear of a sophomore slump has been erased from the album stream. I still don't think I could spend that much on it, though.

"Endtapes" was the song from the Twilight soundtrack, unless "Ladder" got shoved on this last one? (Wikipedia says that wasn't the case.) The b-side to "Whirring" was "Chwyrilo", which is an acoustic Welsh language version of the a-side. "Cholla" is a completely different, brand new song. They have both been on iTunes since November (?), but, again, as singles promoting the album. Technically "Wolf's Law" - hidden away after track 11 - has been out since then to as it appeared on the UK "Cholla" EP. They specifically said it wasn't going to be on the album, so its inclusion is a pleasant surprise.

?? "This Ladder Is Ours" and "Cholla" were always preview singles for the record and were definitely recorded with the rest...

And they're back.

They appear to have taken the bundles down from that second link. They'll be back soon, I'm sure, hopefully with more reasonable shipping rates. (Not holding my breath, but you never know.)

Shipping is apparently €31 to the US. They can go right ahead and forget about that.

Damn, that book version is a bit pricey but I feel like I kinda want it. I'll have to sit and think on it for a bit. (I do wonder how "exclusive" the exclusive b-side on the 7" is going to be.) The mega pack is right out, but I could be convinced to swing for the €40 one...it also depends on how the next single turns out as I won't be paying that much for 'A New Morning' part II!

I ordered mine from Rough Trade and it is fine. The center hole is a little tight - ahem - but other than that it's a great sounding lo-fi, self pressed 7" to match the lo-fo, self recorded music it contains. Artwork would have been nice, but again, I think it works perfectly for this one. (Also a proper sleeve probably would have driven the price up even more.)
