The 10-inch just got pushed back:
We're writing you to let you know that the Southern Medicine vinyl has been pushed back and will be shipping the first week of November. Due to a manufacturer's delay at the plant (all new machinery is being installed!) we have been one of the chosen records that will suffer this slight set back. We sincerely appreciate your patience and will get this awesome piece of music out to you once the stock has been received.
Just got this too. I can't help but think that they may have had some idea this was going to be delayed. This went on sale exactly 1 week ago.

In for one myself. This is one of my few regrets this year, that I didn't pick this up the first time around. Glad I got a second chance.
-
Release date isn't for a while still so I doubt they'd have them until at least late october.
Correct. I didn't have very high hopes that this would be on tour with them currently either, but someone had mentioned the possibility of them having this on tour with them earlier in the thread. They don't. Not yet anyway.

Yo guys! Don't know if anyone has seen it but I just found the pressing info for this on the official txt!
154. Title Fight
Spring Songs : 7"
2013
-------------
Test press : 9 black vinyl
1st press : 1,512 clear orange vinyl
2,650 opaque orange vinyl
526 white vinyl
So the "under 1000" for the transparent was wrong information I guess. The white seems to be a tour variant or something !?
Remains to be seen on the possible tour variant. I can say that they did not have these on Monday night in Salt Lake City. They did hand out promo postcards about this release after the show.
-
The soundstagedirect.com email that went out today had a link to pre-order the Paramount boxset from them for $470. Also interesting to see that they had The Great Gatsby deluxe version available for $300, if anyone is still looking to pick that up.
-
They packed it really well. I wouldn't be too worried about it.
You got yours in SLC already? I'm guessing mine should be here soon then.
-
does anyone know if he has this on tour right now? I am going to see him tonight in Columbus.
When I saw him in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago, it was just shirts. Funny because I took my LP to try to obtain a signature, and several people asked me if I had bought my copy there because they didn't see it at the merch table. Probably would have sold more LPs than t-shirts, based on what the t-shirts looked like.

Yeah it came with a download card.
download card, but MP3 only I think (no FLAC option like on bandcamp)
Thank you both.
-
For those of you who have already purchased this, did it come with a download or CD copy? Thanks in advance.
-
I wish I was better with taking good pictures. You have some great shots here. Well done.
-
That was my reasoning as well. Glad I waited until today as well, because I finally see media mail as an option!
Yeah. I have a sealed original press of this, so it's not really about the most limited variant for me. I'm looking forward to seeing how these turn out though.
-
I wanted the white/green because I thought it should match the artwork well. Good thing because the clear/blue/white now says out of stock. Green/white ordered.

Any particular reason why you wouldn't just order from Merge then?
It is very possible that Amazon would drop to $21 or $22 before the release date. Sometimes it's just a pain to follow different orders on Amazon and risk not getting them cancelled before they ship if the price doesn't drop enough.
-
Full LP is $28.17 on Amazon, $24.98 with free shipping from Merge. I don't know if this will drop below $25 on Amazon, but I think I might preorder to see. I guess I can always cancel and order from Merge if the price doesn't drop.

From the locations on the map, I'm guessing they're all Graywhale stores.
I have to say that if this is really very limited, I doubt all of the Graywhales would actually have even 1 copy. I didn't even think about Randy's being closed on Mondays. Good point.
-
There's like five stores within 20 miles of me that are going to have this. Yes.
I'm guessing these are all Graywhale locations? Maybe Randy's?
-
Looks like he might reach his goal. Currently $660 short with about 45 minutes to go.
Also, it looks like 3 people have ponied up for the "song a day" level.

reliving my youth by rereading the entire wheel of time series... on to book 2
Interesting side note: Brandon Sanderson who was selected by Robert Jordan's widow to finish the series, taught my freshman writing class in college. I remember talking to him and asking him what his plans were. At the time he was hoping to get a book deal soon. I thought he was crazy. That was only 9 years ago.

Sorry to bump this but does anyone who bought the deluxe know exactly how the records are supposed to go in the wooden box?
I had this same question. I ended up putting each disc in a MoFi inner sleeve before sliding them into the wooden sleeve. They fit perfectly.

154 is the opaque and 154A is transluscent
Got it. I knew there were 2 different pages, but on my receipt it didn't seem to differentiate the 2, so it had me thinking that maybe they would just fill X number of orders with translucent, then move to opaque with no sure idea of what you were getting until you receive it. Thanks for clearing that up with the catalog numbers.
-
Ordered a translucent. We'll see if translucent actually comes, as there is no distinction on the order form regarding color.

Yep. They were part of the Twilight Concert Series which is put on by the Salt Lake Arts Council every summer. The shows used to be free up until a few years ago when they started to get a lot more crowded. Now they just charge $5 a show or a season ticket to all 9 shows for $35, which is an incredible deal for the quality of bands they book every year. They've gotten some amazing bands in past years like Iron & Wine, Sonic Youth, Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver, The Black Keys, De La Soul, Modest Mouse, The New Pornographers, The Roots, Beirut, Explosions In The Sky, Bright Eyes, The Decemberists, and a whole lot more.
I love my city for this.
Ditto. One of the best things about living in Salt Lake City. And, contrary to what many believe, there are actually lots of good things about living in Salt Lake City.

considering the shit my mailmen do to my records, im amazed when one comes without a warp or huge seamsplit/corner fold etc.
I am very lucky with my mailman. The complex I live in has a lock box mailbox on the first floor and he walks my packages up the stairs and leans them up against the door. I make sure to thank him when I get the chance, because I've had much worse. I used to live in a basement apartment and the mailman would throw stuff down the stairs into the door whenever I would get a package.

Just got my copy of this in the mail today. Anyone have any issues with this record being warped? I live in an apartment complex with interior corridors and out of direct sun. Thankfully, I don't usually have problems with receiving warped records, but this one is definitely warped.

Not bad. Still waiting on mine that I ordered the second day of the preorder from the label.
