  1. The 10-inch just got pushed back:

We're writing you to let you know that the Southern Medicine vinyl has been pushed back and will be shipping the first week of November. Due to a manufacturer's delay at the plant (all new machinery is being installed!) we have been one of the chosen records that will suffer this slight set back. We sincerely appreciate your patience and will get this awesome piece of music out to you once the stock has been received.

Just got this too. I can't help but think that they may have had some idea this was going to be delayed. This went on sale exactly 1 week ago.

  2. Release date isn't for a while still so I doubt they'd have them until at least late october.

Correct. I didn't have very high hopes that this would be on tour with them currently either, but someone had mentioned the possibility of them having this on tour with them earlier in the thread. They don't. Not yet anyway.

  3. Yo guys! Don't know if anyone has seen it but I just found the pressing info for this on the official txt!

    154. Title Fight

    Spring Songs : 7"

    2013

    -------------

Test press : 9 black vinyl

    1st press : 1,512 clear orange vinyl

    2,650 opaque orange vinyl

    526 white vinyl

So the "under 1000" for the transparent was wrong information I guess. The white seems to be a tour variant or something !?

Remains to be seen on the possible tour variant. I can say that they did not have these on Monday night in Salt Lake City. They did hand out promo postcards about this release after the show.

  4. does anyone know if he has this on tour right now? I am going to see him tonight in Columbus.

When I saw him in Salt Lake City a few weeks ago, it was just shirts. Funny because I took my LP to try to obtain a signature, and several people asked me if I had bought my copy there because they didn't see it at the merch table. Probably would have sold more LPs than t-shirts, based on what the t-shirts looked like.

  5. reliving my youth by rereading the entire wheel of time series... on to book 2

Interesting side note: Brandon Sanderson who was selected by Robert Jordan's widow to finish the series, taught my freshman writing class in college. I remember talking to him and asking him what his plans were. At the time he was hoping to get a book deal soon. I thought he was crazy. That was only 9 years ago.

  6. 154 is the opaque and 154A is transluscent

Got it. I knew there were 2 different pages, but on my receipt it didn't seem to differentiate the 2, so it had me thinking that maybe they would just fill X number of orders with translucent, then move to opaque with no sure idea of what you were getting until you receive it. Thanks for clearing that up with the catalog numbers.

  7. Yep. They were part of the Twilight Concert Series which is put on by the Salt Lake Arts Council every summer. The shows used to be free up until a few years ago when they started to get a lot more crowded. Now they just charge $5 a show or a season ticket to all 9 shows for $35, which is an incredible deal for the quality of bands they book every year. They've gotten some amazing bands in past years like Iron & Wine, Sonic Youth, Broken Social Scene, Bon Iver, The Black Keys, De La Soul, Modest Mouse, The New Pornographers, The Roots, Beirut, Explosions In The Sky, Bright Eyes, The Decemberists, and a whole lot more.

I love my city for this.

Ditto. One of the best things about living in Salt Lake City. And, contrary to what many believe, there are actually lots of good things about living in Salt Lake City.

  8. considering the shit my mailmen do to my records, im amazed when one comes without a warp or huge seamsplit/corner fold etc.

I am very lucky with my mailman. The complex I live in has a lock box mailbox on the first floor and he walks my packages up the stairs and leans them up against the door. I make sure to thank him when I get the chance, because I've had much worse. I used to live in a basement apartment and the mailman would throw stuff down the stairs into the door whenever I would get a package.
