It was a huge dilemma for me. I bought tickets for Americanarama right when they went on sale (before the Twilight Concert Series lineup was announced), but I knew it was on the same night as one of the Twilight shows. I bought tickets anyways hoping it would be an artist playing that night that I didn't care for. It ended up being The National, who out of the whole lineup I wanted to see the most. 

 

I was going back and forth between the two choices. See the National/Sharon Van Etten for $5 or keep my $80 ticket to see Bob Dylan, Wilco and My Morning Jacket. In the end I went with Americanarama and loved it, but I still have lingering regrets for missing The National. I still haven't listened to Trouble Will Find Me because I don't want to bum myself out.

I had thought about going to the Americanarama show as well, but as I've never been a huge Wilco fan, I had seen several My Morning Jacket shows in the past, and I saw Bob Dylan a couple of years ago at the Saltair (aka the worst venue I've ever had the privilege of seeing a show at) and was pretty disappointed. The man is a legend, but he certainly doesn't seem to have legendary stage presence anymore. So, The National for $5 was a pretty easy call for me.

I really didn't know a whole lot about them before Twilight, but decided to check them out. Absolutely amazing live.

I got my copy of the deluxe edition today. After seeing the other posts in this thread I was a little worried about it being damaged. Then, one of the corners of the box was quite smashed. When I opened it, it had a small ding, but nothing you wouldn't see even in the store.

Hope everyone who has had a problem with getting a damaged copy can get it resolved.

We'll have to see if there's anything on the back. I didn't keep up with the Finch thread, how'd that go?

You mean on the back of the sleeve for this release?

The "cover" for this release is only a plain white inner sleeve with the rubber stamp on the upper left hand corner of the front. There is nothing on the back.

I asked this question when I bought my copy from the merch table. Masked Intruder's merch guy said he thought 300, but he wasn't sure. He did say that they were selling really quick. This was a week and a half ago.

This is open to the general public now. I got an email from Graveface last night explaining the whole campaign and had the indiegogo link. I'll be curious to see if there is much of an impact since it has more exposure now.

Anybody know what vinyl Appleseed Cast has on tour with them?

When I saw them a couple months ago, all they had was Illumination Ritual on the 1st pressing retail color.

So what exactly are on the two other discs?

Rolling Stone is reporting that this reissue will include an entire live show from this era. Don't know if this includes the vinyl LP reissue or not, but I would include this as a possibility.

So I went to Rancid last night. The band has this at the merch table for $20. Rancid's merch guy, as well as Lars from the stage both indicated that this is a one-time pressing of 500 on white.

Now I need to get some of the covers replaced since nearly all of mine have that black glue remnant line on them.

I'm with you. I have yet to be able to get that glue off of my covers.

Anyone who has been to any of the shows on the current tour, what kind of merch did Rancid and/or the Transplants have, particularly in the way of vinyl? Thanks in advance!

Can anyone confirm that replacements have been received in the US? So far we've heard of replacements being sent to people in Germany, Australia, and Canada.

Anyone know how many of theses will be pressed?

The black and blue version of these records are limited to the number of people who attended the live performance at Third Man and pre-ordered a copy, usually about 300. These obviously are out of the reach of most people. The pre-order mentioned here is for standard black and are pressed in perpetuity. Or, as Third Man states, are "unlimited".

Anyone who has received their Gatsby gold and platinum set tried to actually put the records into the wooden enclosure? I'm not sure they will fit and if they do fit, I don't know how you would ever get them out without scratching the hell out of them. Any tips would be appreciated.

My store said they got quite a few of the indie version and thought they would probably have them for awhile. I don't think the indie versions are going to be too hard to find for those looking.

Does anybody have any information about the Amazon pressing of this? I know when I asked before somebody said it was a tricolor record but I can't find any other info about it

My guess is that the version available on Amazon is the standard version available on the Third Man site for $25 plus shipping. I preordered through Amazon with Prime. It will be considerably cheaper than purchasing directly from Third Man.

Also got my Sun Records bundle today. No colored versions. I have preordered almost every release since the inception of Third Man and have never received a colored version of anything. Oh well.

3,4, and now 3 1/2 packing peanuts. You all win, because mine didn't come with any! Everything came in pretty good shape with the exception of a ding on one corner of the signed lyric sheet.

Aside from the controversy with how limited this is or how expensive, I'm hoping this comes in some kind of enclosure so it looks like a set, whether it is a slipcase or a velvet lined box or something. From all of the pics I've seen, it looks like it comes as 2 separate wooden enclosures.

Swank clearly stated that these would be on sale starting on Friday, and would be on sale other days too, unless it sold out on Friday. I felt it was pretty clear that these weren't going to sell out today and that there would be plenty to go around for pretty much anyone who wanted the limited edition.
