  1. I actually wish that there was a way to block new users from creating threads till they have been around for 25 posts and 1 month. By doing that it would remove a heck of a lot of the stupid drama like this. If there was a time frame and a post minimum before creating new threads it would make people spend a bit of time learning how this forum is ran before jumping in full steam. New poster please don't think I am trying to bash you. It is tough when you are new around here to know to just search back before starting a new topic. However when we have 6 threads out there to What's your favorite vinyl?, What's your most valuable vinyl?, Whats your most prettiest vinyl? etc., we probably don't need another thread variation of that. It's really about keeping the amount of work for our moderators down to a minimum and keeping the forums as clean as possible (no duplicate threads).
  2. Don't take anything to heart. I've been around for years and can see where new members do get some shit. I don't think it's typically to much, but I get how it'll turn off some people from continuing to post. Best advice is to just take some time to read through some threads. Figure out how to use the search feature. In no time you'll figure out what'll ruffle some feathers and lead to you getting some shit. Really though just stick around here, there is a ton of really good people and a ton of really good info. It's worth dealing with a bit of shit til you get how things roll 'round here.
  3. What they are saying is depression dulls the sense of smell. So if you are depressed then you might overuse perfume / cologne because of your lack smell.
  4. http://www.livescience.com/2165-women-wear-perfume.html Women who wear to much perfume may be depressed. Same goes for men and cologne.
  5. I'd prefer that to a co-worker who bathes in the most appalling perfume. I've got a co-worker that must use a half bottle of perfume every single day. It seriously makes my eyes burn and water and I have to try and hold my breath if she gets within 3 feet of me or so in the first few hours of work. After that it's not as noticeable.
  6. Yeah this. I don't think there is an option directly on usps.com to use media mail. If there is I haven't found it and the guys at my local post office say they've heard the same thing.
  7. Appleton, WI area, a bit south of Green Bay. Glad everything is all good by you, nothing major happened here either. Other than hella rain, my sump pump will be running for days now.
  8. Awesome way to start a weekend. Wake up to a rave going on outside. I've never had seen so much lightening the sky was just non-stop flashing. It was also downpouring out so that was awesome. I just wish I would have been more awake so I could enjoy it more. Then I went Burger King for the first time in probably 8 years to pick up a couple egg and cheese croisantwiches, which are AMAZING.
  9. Perhaps my irrational fear of parking ramps isn't so irrational. I always have a bit of a panic attack when parking in a structure like this. When I have to I basically sprint out of there.
  10. Trailer for the only FF movie that matters. Apparently they had to hurry up and make movie or the rights reverted back to Marvel so they threw up this hot mess.
  11. Off work restrictions, other than wearing a splint. It's good because it'll help appease management a little, but it's going to suck because my jobs are all grip strength reliant. My range of motion in the on finger is at about 20 degrees and to get it that far it hurts like a son of a gun.
  12. Not trying to argue the same point over and over. The reality of this is that I love the way Baseball is set up. I loved the early and mid 2000's Brewers. Not because the Major League team was great or even good, but because I loved watching the Brewers draft and develop talent. That is what love. I love getting invested in a player like Orlando Arcia who I still remember when the Brewers signed him for a little under $100,000. He's now reached top 10 status on Baseball America's list. There have been plenty of mega disappointments too but that is still part of the fun of watching the development process in Major League Baseball. I was certain the "Capt'n" Lou Palmasano was going to be the Brewers answer at Catcher and he flopped out in no time. I also thought that Mat Gamel was going to be better than Ryan Braun when they were drafted. I love watching my Brewers develop a team that can compete for a World Series. They had that run from 2007ish to 2012ish. Now I'm ready to build for another run. The other part of baseball I love is that there are so many ways to win, each with their own downside. The Brewers need to draft and develop well and then can compete by bringing in a few free agents. Large market clubs can spend tons of money to try and remove the need to go through a rebuild cycle. Then you have clubs like the Rays and As that hired some of the best GMs and player personel people and you can try and just try and maintain competitiveness by constantly trading any player before he gets his first big contract. Baseball is the nerdiest most fun sport out there to be a fan of because off all the options for teams to be sucessful.
  13. The problem that I see with most of the pitchers you mentioned is that hey are lower ceiling prospects. Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining but most of the higher level prospects the Brewers have are lower ceiling guys. I don't view any of the pitchers you mentioned as an arm with All Star potential. This isn't meant as a huge negative, it's more just trying to view things objectively. Even when the Brewers have had a terrible farm system over the last few years they've done a good job of developing lower ceiling Major Leaguers. It's not a knock they still are developing Major League talent. The last few drafts have adressed this issue in a major way. Pulling down Kodi Mederos, Jacob Gatewood and Monte Harrison last year was huge, along with signing Gilbert Lara. That bunch right there are 4 players with near unlimited potential. Hopefully one or two pan out. This years draft they got a nice value in round 1 in Trenton Clark and I loved the Demi Ormoloye pick. (i know I'm misspelling some of these names terribly) My whole scrap it and start again is two fold. The Brewers seem to be drafting better over the last few years. So I am more confident that the Brewers would make use of higher picks. Honestly the picks aren't even the biggest deal its the increase in the Draft cap. That extra money gives so much extra flexability to sign elite talent in rounds 2-5. The other reason why I want the Brewers to kind of scrap things is that Gomez has to go at some point this season or this offseason, or else the Brewers risk him leaving for minimal compensation. When Gomez leave I don't see the Brewers having the pitching to compete so I'd rather just try and accelerate the minor league rehab project that has been slowly happening over the last few years.
  14. Just did now because you mentioned it. The reality, for me at least, is that stuff like this happens so often it doesn't have any affect on me. It's more of an expected news item.
  15. I'm watching Futurama right now, such a good show. Just watched the Beck episode.
  16. Good thing about my job is that I never have to work a Sunday and Saturdays are pretty rare. Super nice knowing I will always have at least one day a week off.
  17. Hope your brother gets better soon and I hope that your job gets better soon. Or I hope you find something better. I know the feeling of having a boss with a grudge against you. I spent a good solid 5 years having a boss trying to get me fired. He was the guy who banned me from "looking me in the face and eyes because I find it threatening and intimidating when you do that". Nothing sucks more than showing up to your job knowing that you have to be perfect or someone is going to be there to lay the hammer down. I think I'm back at that position at work. I just got through the disciplinary process for my accident at work and they made it pretty clear they are just going to be on the lookout for any infraction to get me fired. Ah well I'm not to upset it's just annoying that I swear I can never just get to a point at work where I can just show up and not have to deal with a ton of crap. So fuck my job, fuck your job, fuck jobs all around.
  18. Pretty happy I'm finally getting a Daytrotter subscription. I've wanted to for a long time but could never pull the trigger. Now they have a deal with my local music festival where the subscription is free. So at least there is one good thing about today.
  19. Yes...so much this...I should probably talk to a dr about my issues with this
  20. My mentality goes across all sports. If Jarrett Bush was still a Packer I'd be calling for him to get cut. Heck if Aaron Rodgers got caught for PEDs I'd be calling for the Packers to trade him. Baseball is what I know best though, at least for now. Becoming a bigger basketball fan with the Bucks team actually coming together. Ever since Giannis got drafted I've been gravitating there more. I also specifically call out Braun more than others because of his whole PED fiasco was just ridiculous. Nelson Cruz should have been banned. Yasmani Grandal should have been banned. Jhonny Peralta should have been banned. I guess we are at a point where theres no point in arguing further. We don't see eye to eye and thats fine. In reality pro sports doesn't affect my life at all so I don't care to much what happens.
