  1. So I have a handful of records that I need to get rid of. None of them are really rare whatsoever. What's the best way to get rid of them? I contemplated eBay, but with such common items I don't see why anyone would buy them there. Ideas?
  2. Silversun Pickups album is amazing. The free 7" is cool too.
  3. I would love this haha. I didn't get into Thrice until TAITA, but they've been my favorite band since then. I would love to spin A Torch and To What End. Even the intro track is amazing for what it is.
  4. Original post is ridiculous. Hot Topic is a gateway for new vinyl fans, and they're HELPING the industry, not hurting it. Obviously they don't expect to be an ALTERNATIVE to record stores. They sell albums that cater to the popular scene they're promoting, and new album collections are born there. I bought my first album at Hot Topic last December; I didn't even know active bands still pressed albums until I saw them there. Since then I have bought two albums, Minus The Bear's new EP and Motion City Soundtrack's newest. The rest of my growing collection came from independent stores and websites like VC who would never have had my business unless Hot Topic peaked my interest in vinyl.
  5. Not to be beating a dead horse, but I wonder if this is hurts or helps our chances of seeing On Letting Go pressed.
  6. From the tiny image on Underoath's online merch store it looks like the vinyl only version is a single, 180 gram, 10", dark red vinyl.
  7. So wait, of the four Thursday tracks one is instrumental and another is a remix of that instrumental???
  8. Really? I found my copy of the original pressing unopened in a Hot Topic in San Francisco last summer. Of course I opened it and listen to it all the time...
  9. First few purchases for about four months now... Motion City Soundtrack - Even If It Kills Me Pre-ordered: Thursday / Envy - Split EP Underoath - Lost In The Sound of Seperation
  10. Interpunk has some. http://www.interpunk.com/item.cfm?Item=161590& Edit: Looks like a repress on white pre-order...
  11. I went back and forth on ordering from Merchdirect, Interpunk, or TRL. I finally ordered from TRL though... It's a dollar cheaper than Interpunk, and I was afraid of getting black. Not to mention Merch Direct's shipping is highhh, and TRL deserves the support more than anyone else. I asked for gold. I hope I get it.
  12. Bad link, and I've contemplated buying this at Hot Topic many times, but $17 for one LP that is in every Hot Topic in the USA is a bit much.
  13. Pretty childish responses. I've never heard of TDWP publicly preaching or scorning any bands like Behemoth for their beliefs. Nerg, or whatever his name is, needs to grow up. And TDWP are a talented, enjoyable band who don't claim to be anything they're not.
  14. Not getting all the hate. And it's not on Hot Topic's website.
  15. I saw it on clearance at a Hot Topic out of town for like $9 and, like an idiot, I didn't buy it. Now I can't find it anywhere for less than a disgraceful $25 on Rise Record's website. Anyone know where to get this cheap or at a reasonable price?
  16. Maybe you could try asking the guy to hold it for you until after the show and put down a payment or something. They're usually still set up then.
  17. I have this guy: http://www.amazon.com/Audio-Technica-AT-....7 190978&sr=8-5 I've had this player since December and I've had no problems paying 7" or 12" records. I don't have any 10" records, but as a big Underoath fan, I'm about to order the new album on 10". The question is, how can I play it?
  18. It doesn't make me feel cooler than everyone else when I have to pass up a rare album that I found to be able to take my girlfriend to prom because I've spent too much on records already this month. I feel like the novelties already wearing off, and it's only been four months. My musical tastes don't really cater towards vinyl collecting either...
  19. I have a crappy set-up, it costs me a lot more than it does to find a CD both in time and money, it really isn't a hobby I can afford, and if I'm lucky I have time to listen to one album a day, but listen to hours on my iPod/PC while I'm not in my room. Do most newer collectors have these kinds of dilemmas?
