  1. No, I hear ya. I just really like Fall Out Boy and it all kinda hit a head after they released that new video tonight, that's all. Don't mean to go after anyone's opinions here. I actually like this place.
  2. I understand why you would like something like this. Hell, I even like poppier bands whose use of samples and programming greatly exceeds Fall Out Boy's. But I just don't see how this is a "progression" (which in and of itself is a debatable term here, implying that previous albums are inferior and the band has gotten better the more they've moved away from a beloved sound that won them fans in the first place -- but that's a discussion for another thread). Their previous album, which is my favorite, by the by, was still primarily driven by loud, heavy guitar and pounding drums. These two new songs have eschewed that by putting the programming and samples into the driver's seat, while mixing the live drums towards the back and losing the loud, distorted guitar. Anyway, I'll leave it at that. I guess I'm just flyin' off the handle here 'cause AbsolutePunk.net is lighting up over these two new songs. I really need to find a new place to read my music news...
  3. Sorry, I'm not buying that. This is quite the departure -- the two songs so far have seen the drums and guitar, normally the driving force on every single Fall Out Boy album released to-date, take a back seat to programming and drum samples. Whether or not you enjoy it, that's fine and simply your opinion, but the band's sound has quite obviously changed.
  4. The vinyl seems to be out of stock on the Merch Now site -- are they really sold out already, or have they removed them for whatever reason?
  5. Would any of these albums be better off sold on eBay? Not sure what the community here already has / is actively looking for.
  6. Any chance a few copies of the random splatter go back up, or are they all officially sold out?
  7. Only got to see them once, back whenever it was that they opened for The Gamits. Almost got to see them on my yearly drive home from Chicago to Denver, but missed the show by a few days. Have you seen Thirst Things First, yet? Looks like they're starting to play shows. I've only heard that Breaking Bad song they put online. If them, or any other JV Allstar spinoff bands put out some vinyl, buy an extra for me!
  8. I was thinking instead of doing the three 7" thing, you could do four separate LP variants, just like the original cd release. Each LP has their own pair of secret songs, so you gotta collect all three if you want all the secret songs, just like you had to do back in 2001. Sucks for variant collectors, but I thought it stayed true to the original release and allowed me to play around with the covers a bit more and do something that hasn't been seen yet, rather than just doing the standard black.
  9. Lost my job recently and while I've held out as long as I could, unfortunately it's time to start selling off some parts of my collection. First up, some albums that I have multiple variants of. Please send your offers via PM. Thanks for looking! Paper + Plastick told me that many of the limited edition FEST 10 run suffered from these problems. They were nice enough to send me another copy, but that skipped, as well.
  10. Saw them open for the Gamits back in the early 2000s, been a huge fan ever since. 'Take Me Back to Spectre' is easily one of my top 15 favorite albums of all-time.
  11. You're right, I'm sure a lot of people are complaining but still planning to order. I just feel like the VC community has a real opportunity to produce change here. What percentage of SRC customers comprise this board? I'd guess it's a fairly high number. Of course not everyone here will boycott, but if enough people did it would certainly get the attention of SRC.
  12. You think that if a large majority of this community were to abstain from purchasing this record, it would send a clear message to SRC and result in a more fair price? Seems like we're in a unique position of being members of an SRC-owned message board, therefore in turn that company's prime consumer pool for this new SRC Blink-182 release. We could actually make a difference here if most everyone coud get on the same page in terms of not buying this.
  13. In honor of today's historic news, here's an old mockup I did last year:
  14. Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter.
  15. Too good of a point to ignore -- it'll be hard to resist, but I'll plan on not ordering this based on this principle.
  16. I don't think this record is black. I think it's such a dark green that it's nearly black. I'll look for a better light source to take another picture.
