glass realms reacted to crapforgenius in Recent purchases
I *may* have just impulse bought a copy of Suede's 'Head Music' from Discogs.
I probably shouldn't be browsing there at 1AM with a glass of wine in hand. Whoops.

glass realms got a reaction from crapforgenius in PO: Interpol - Turn On The Bright Lights Deluxe 2LP+DVD
I would hardly call the first album of a band aping Joy Division one of the greatest records ever.

Walked in to the record store with $20, out with $2. Not a bad deal:
Pet Shop Boys - DJ culture US 12"
Pet Shop Boys - Yesterday, when I was mad US 2x12"
Blur - There's No Other Way US 12" remixes
The Chemical Brothers - Loops of Fury US 12" (WHY IS THERE A TRACK BREAK BETWEEN "LOOPS OF FURY" AND "BREAKING UP"? SO ANNOYING!)
The Chemical Brothers - Elektrobank US 12"
Janet Jackson - Come Give Your Love To Me US 7" with picture sleeve
Janet Jackson - Don't Stand Another Chance US 7" with picture sleeve
I'm not a big fan of the first two Janet albums, but they were $1 each and "Don't Stand Another Chance" is kind of a jam.

My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult - Some Have To Dance, Some Have To Kill... US 12" (Jesus label)

There was also a copy of the Sugarcubes CD-6 boxset for $20 that I passed on, regretted, but when I went back a few days later it was (unsurprisingly) gone. Oh well.

Went back home to Rochester for the weekend and spent some time digging through the bargain bins, ended up with a pretty decent haul:
$1 7"s:
Madonna - Angel
MARRS - Pump Up The Volume / Anita
Corey Hart - Never Surrender poster sleeve
Prince - Pop Life / Hello
Vanity - Pretty Mess promo
12"/LPs:
Merry Christmas from Sesame Street (tried to replace a old, worn-out cassette copy this past year and it went for over $100 on eBay - finally found one for $5!)
Michael Jackson - Thriller (no Michael Jackson production credit, which is apparently a first pressing and better SQ due to the stampers not being as worn at that point. We'll see...)
Grace Jones - Fame
Sheila E - Romance 1600
The Beautiful South - Song For Whoever 12"
Frankie Goes To Hollywood - The Power of Love gatefold 12" (when I got it home I realized it had the standard 12" in the limited sleeve...oh well.)

I just ordered this from Fat earlier today. Am I gonna get the color or black? Either one's fine...I find the title track to be quite funny.

No, you didn't. And I think it's actually the 4th in the series that is unreleased.

FALSE!!!!!!
The blue and silver split variant of the Sink or Swim Demos 7" and the gold/orange variant of the Senor and the Queen 2x7" were both tour variants.
/end nerd rant

I emailed Infinite Merch and the guy was able to tell me that I'll definitely get a blue one. Don't care about anything else unless they announce something super limited.
All this ordeal does is prove that major labels should leave the vinyl releases to independent labels. If you're a major, and you scoop up a band like Gaslight, just license the vinyl to SideOneDummy and let them make awesome bundles! You know they're going to do it right and you still get to make some cash without pissing off the fanbase.

glass realms reacted in Ceremony at Gilman Street: The Documentary (and June Tour)
realtalk finds this interesting:
Ceremony at Gilman Street: the documentary

Like lots of Bay Area crusters, Ceremony spent their formative years hanging out, watching bands and playing shows at 924 Gilman in Berkeley. Noisey brings us a short documentary capturing the spirit of that establishment, and perhaps as interestingly, the personality of the band (produced by Glasnost NYC):
The band’s June tour includes a stop in Brooklyn for the Northside Festival (tickets still available):
Monday, June 04 – Metairie, LA – The Cypress (with Cold World, Backtrack, Expire, Dead End Path, Wake Into The Nightmare, Charge The Mound)
Tuesday, June 05 – Gainesville, FL – The Backyard (with Post Teens)
Wednesday, June 06 – Orlando, FL – Backbooth (with Merchandise, Great Deceivers)
Thursday, June 07 – Atlanta, GA – Drunken Unicorn (with Manic)
Friday, June 08 – Belmont, NC – The Haunted Mill (with Joint Damage)
Saturday, June 09 – Washington, DC – St. Stephens Church (with Sacred Love, Muck, Plastic Gods, Girlstabs)
Sunday, June 10 – Philadelphia, PA – First Unitarian Church (with Citizens Arrest, Leather, Waxahatchee)
Monday, June 11 – Wilkes-Barre, PA – Redwood Art Space (with Tigers Jaw, United Youth)
Tuesday, June 12 – Pawtucket, RI – The Met (with Soul Control, Raindanc)
Wednesday, June 13 – Hamden, CT – The Space (with TBA)
Thursday, June 14 – Brooklyn, NY – Warsaw (Northside Fest with Magrudergrind and more TBA)
Friday, June 15 – Buffalo, NY – The Funeral Home (with Lieutenant, Plates)
Saturday, June 16 – Toronto, ON – Wrong Bar (with Killer Mike, Death Grips, Doldrums, Trae Tha Truth)
Saturday, June 16 – Toronto, ON – Dundas Square (NXNE with The Flaming Lips, Soundtrack Of Our Lives, of Montreal, and more)
Sunday, June 17 – Cleveland, OH – Grog Shop (with White Lung, more TBA)
Monday, June 18 – Chicago, IL – Bottom Lounge (with White Lung, more TBA)
Tuesday, June 19 – Minneapolis, MN – 7th Street Entry (with White Lung, more TBA)
Wednesday, June 20 – Omaha, NE – The Sandbox (with White Lung, Slut River, Gag Reflex)
Thursday, June 21 – Denver, CO – Marquis Theater (with White Lung, Negative Degree, Citizen)

This is in support of CEREMONY'S most recent album ZOO. I personally enjoy the red pre-order edition vinyl limited to 300, which is really the only variant which matches the colour of the cover, aside from black. That sold out in an instant though so good luck tracking one down. Oh, and look, they're also doing a few shows with WHITE LUNG, another band realtalk also recently made a post about... hint: their limited vinyl edition is still available!
