  1. Af few things about the Liverpool game: 1) Coutinho is a little terror who with a little time can be a real handful. We've seen that he can provide killer through balls, but what impressed me today was his willingness to get dug in and chippy on defense. He is intelligent, deceptive and there arent enough superlatives for what he's brought to the team since his signing. 2) missed chances. If Perch puts away the open header, things get interesting as Liverpool get nervous when the pressure piles on. Even after the interval when Ben Arfa comes in the tide changes and Liverpool, to there credit, stand strong if not a little lucky. But then comes Coutinho again and after the third goal its all over. Newcastle won't get relegated but they need to sort out the team; they were abysmal. Cabaye was completely marked out by Lucas and Cisse held by the ever dependable Carragher. I do think that Coloccini healthy would have made a world of difference but Sturridge would have gotten him sent off or beat him for pace. Either way, well done Liverpool. Onwards to the Everton derby.
  2. Kind of lame that the record doesn't come with a code but I guess it's a rights issue then. Back to the music, Plain Sailing Weather has been stuck in my head for the last day or so, that chorus is so so catchy. Great record as a whole.
  3. This sounds so good! I'm really impressed with this release as a whole, from the music, the sound, the artwork, and the packaging is top notch as well. Graveface is awesome for pricing this relatively low but not skimping on anything. The 180 Gram black is glorious.
  4. After hearing the new tracks I might be getting this. From what I hear the band is going back to a more guitar oriented sound and leaving behind the electronic sounds of Intimacy, which I could barely stand. I have high hopes for this now.
  5. This. On both sides the record starts really abruptly. I think it's because my turntable is an automatic as well, but my copy is flawless and still sounds really good.
  6. I'll put in my two cents: I just picked this up from my local shop. Read every single lyric for every song and while there are some songs that I found myself becoming numb to ( Too Much Blood) the rest is very good. But, I will say that listening to Handwritten is like looking into someone's diary and it feels obtrusive at times. Most of the songs are about love in one form or another, and after a while the theme becomes very central and narrow while the music itself is expansive and dynamic which helps get past the one- dimensional aspect of the lyrics. One thing that I always appreciated was Brian's use of imagery and there wasn't too much that struck me in that way aside from one great line about the way 'her dress moved'. This is probably the first TGA album where the music outshines the lyrics. You can tell how much time was put into inserting breakdowns at pivotal moments, and pauses for effect. It's masterful in that way. I'm only this critical with music that I love. That being said, I really like it and will have to let it sink in some more.
  7. I received mine from Relapse on 180 Gram and it's pretty phenomenal. I like every song on both Yellow and Green, but I tend to play Green more.
  8. I didn't get a colored copy either but I agree with others that 'They Came From the Shadows' was better. But still a fun record.
