Rooks, I was scrolling down through those images thinking yeah this sums up recent Koz music, then I got to Atreyu trying to save Artax (not realising it was your sig) and thought "damn is this how bad things have gotten?"

Anyone wanna buy my entire Kozelek vinyl collection? After hearing a few minutes of this new blatherskite, I can hardly stand to look at them with any grain of seriousness left.....
I'd be up for that. Not the local pickup though lol. Haven't listened to any of the new record yet. 'Saving' it until the weekend. Work is depressing enough without a suposedly subpar Koz album y'know :-/

Any copies of Explosions In The Sky anywhere or anyone could help me out with getting a copy?
-
Just when I think I'm out, Explosions In The Sky pull me back in.

Melody Supreme doesn't ship outside US. Can anyone help me out with AFP? Possibly Union Chapel? Thanks.

Damn double post.

Music Magpie have 20% off everything at the moment with the promo code VCMAY20 and have lots of new vinyl at decent prices, including A Moon Shaped Pool preorder which would come in around £14. http://store.musicmagpie.co.uk/music/vinyl
Another good deal on there is quite a few of the Sufjan albums are priced around £11 so would come in around £9 delivered.
Cheers for this!
Got Antlers - Burst Apart for £6 and preordered the new Moonface album for £8.
Bargain!

I don't think it's that bizarre. He's played there quite a bit and released performances that he did there in the past.
Fair enough.

Fuck. Was not expecting anything like this and I was at work. Pretty bummed, but I guess I can't win them all.
This. Regular black will do fine. An exclusive Luna variant seems a bit bizarre though. Wouldn't be completely surprised if other colours were available elsewhere.

Trying to keep this thread on topic (and probably about to commit some sort of sin considering how much people want that 7"):
I'm really not a fan of the song Spectre. It's "ok", but to me it's nothing special. I can see why it wasn't used, and I can see why it wasn't saved for this album. It just falls somewhere between everything, but isn't really that good. Think I'm probably alone on that one though!
It's good. Not first rate Radiohead but it's much better than the song that was used for the Bond film.

My local store came through for me today. They got 5 and all were for those who preordered. XL should announce a repress to stop the flippers. Sounds like the indies only version of the LP is going to be a shitshow of a release.

Norman are an indie store but operate out of a warehouse so they don't really have a proper store front. I don't think this release is being policed like RSD releases.
Kinda think they shouldn't have been included in this then.

So every store is just ignoring the no online sales thing? lol

I've only seen Radiohead live once. Two support acts: Deerhoof and Beck.

Went for the deluxe. Looks like an awesome set. KOL will look like shit sandwiched between this and In Rainbows boxes. Listening to the album and loving it. Jonny's soundtrack fingerprints all over it. Very organic sounding after KOL too. Thom can keep his funky bleeps and bloops for jamming with Flea.

Wouldn't be completely surprised if the other 350 7"s were sent out to the same people who received the Burn The Witch flier in the post.

They really missed a trick by not having disc 2 on vinyl in the boxset that time.
-
Shame they didn't bring the World Tour variant on their world tour. Ah well stops me being a second copy (for now!) Enjoy the gig folks. Looking forward to Dublin tomorrow!
-
Didn't leave the house til 10am. Went to my fave store having missed the queues and rush and was able to pick up my 2 main wants easily (last copy of each though!). The other two Lp's I wanted didn't arrive in time but was able to reserve them for Monday. Result!

Yeah the doc was shown on BBC4 here in the UK. It's pretty good. Not a documentary in the sense that they have people talking about atomic bombs/energy but pretty much a visual collage of old footage. Goes really well with the music though. Mogwai are playing along to the visuals on their upcoming tour. I think the director Mark Cousins was selling copies of the doc on DVD.

A mix between local independent store, label/bands directly and online stores. If something is pretty much guaranteed to go quick or has no chance of making it to the UK then I'll always go direct to band/label. If it's something new and not super difficult to get (although I am surprised every now and then) my local can usually preorder it for me. If it's something easy to get and amazon or ebay sellers are selling it super cheap then of course I'll buy from there.
You do get weird anomalies that can't help local retailers too. A good example of this: It was cheaper for me to buy the Explosions In The Sky webstore variant including shipped to the UK than it is to be the UK variant instore here.

Not gonna lie I'd preorder that haha.
He has shown he hates record collectors in his songs already and how he hates people who diss him online (Cry Me A River Williamsburg...) so if anything a song about VCers would be the natural destination of his current form of songwriting.
