Also can you imagine, he writes a song about VC and just ends up reading the posts during it for 14 minutes.

Not gonna lie I'd preorder that haha.

He has shown he hates record collectors in his songs already and how he hates people who diss him online (Cry Me A River Williamsburg...) so if anything a song about VCers would be the natural destination of his current form of songwriting.

Anyone wanna buy my entire Kozelek vinyl collection? After hearing a few minutes of this new blatherskite, I can hardly stand to look at them with any grain of seriousness left.....

I'd be up for that. Not the local pickup though lol. Haven't listened to any of the new record yet. 'Saving' it until the weekend. Work is depressing enough without a suposedly subpar Koz album y'know :-/

Music Magpie have 20% off everything at the moment with the promo code VCMAY20 and have lots of new vinyl at decent prices, including A Moon Shaped Pool preorder which would come in around £14. http://store.musicmagpie.co.uk/music/vinyl

Another good deal on there is quite a few of the Sufjan albums are priced around £11 so would come in around £9 delivered.

    Cheers for this!

Got Antlers - Burst Apart for £6 and preordered the new Moonface album for £8.

    Bargain!

Trying to keep this thread on topic (and probably about to commit some sort of sin considering how much people want that 7"):

I'm really not a fan of the song Spectre. It's "ok", but to me it's nothing special. I can see why it wasn't used, and I can see why it wasn't saved for this album. It just falls somewhere between everything, but isn't really that good. Think I'm probably alone on that one though!

It's good. Not first rate Radiohead but it's much better than the song that was used for the Bond film.

  5. Yeah the doc was shown on BBC4 here in the UK. It's pretty good. Not a documentary in the sense that they have people talking about atomic bombs/energy but pretty much a visual collage of old footage. Goes really well with the music though. Mogwai are playing along to the visuals on their upcoming tour. I think the director Mark Cousins was selling copies of the doc on DVD.

  6. A mix between local independent store, label/bands directly and online stores. If something is pretty much guaranteed to go quick or has no chance of making it to the UK then I'll always go direct to band/label. If it's something new and not super difficult to get (although I am surprised every now and then) my local can usually preorder it for me. If it's something easy to get and amazon or ebay sellers are selling it super cheap then of course I'll buy from there.

You do get weird anomalies that can't help local retailers too. A good example of this: It was cheaper for me to buy the Explosions In The Sky webstore variant including shipped to the UK than it is to be the UK variant instore here.
