Captured Tracks Thread
paralyticstalks replied to kamalatapes's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I wouldn't be surprised if we saw something new from Mac this year. Does anyone know if The Soft Moon is still on the label? He's self-releasing his new single and I don't know if it's just because or if this is the first step in doing something alone. I really hope it doesn't turn into a Cold Cave "release 20 singles" a year type thing. -

I actually saw DIIV open for Wild Nothing in the fall of 2012 at a small club in Charlottesville, VA. Best show ever. -

Please help. Scoured the internet for a reasonable price, finally found one, and the distro just realized they couldn't get it. Anyone have a copy or know of where I can buy one for decent $$? If someone on the boards has one and wants to sell/trade we can work something out.

what's the most you've ever spent on a record?

$80 on a blue vinyl copy of the original 12" self-released pressing of Drugs To The Dear Youth by Tera Melos. -
WTB: MBV Loveless 2013 Bootleg
paralyticstalks replied to paralyticstalks's topic in Sale/Trade/Wants
Supposedly this bootleg sounds just as good as the original. The Plain represses are direct from CD and people still drop $50-$100 on them. -
I really want one of these but buying from someone in Italy on discogs is sketching me out a little considering the way their postal service is rumored to be. Can anyone help?

Circa Survive Discography Reissue ?

Looking to buy a copy of Juturna and On Letting Go. Not concerned with the variant as long as it's a re-press (not looking to spend stupid money). Shoot me offers.- 1,936 replies

Albums That Should Be RE-PRESSED on Vinyl

I've always been skeptical of Amazon but if you've had good luck I'm willing to give it a go. Thanks a ton for the links. -

Not even being sarcastic, show me where I can get them for $30.. Insound charges and arm and a leg, I'd have to pay crazy shipping from people on discogs, ebay is full of scammers, etc. -

I need HQ U.S. pressings of all three Slowdive records. Also I need Blind and Static And Silence by The Sundays, the last 3 Cocteau Twins records, In Keeping Secrets by Coheed And Cambria, and Live Through This by Hole. -
Mine is subpar at best. It looks like a child glued on the center label. There is some surface noise but nothing that is so distinct that it ruins the song. However, and I've noticed this with other CT releases I have (i.e. Naomi Punk's 'The Feeling', Beach Fossils' 'Clash The Truth', etc), it's pretty warbly like it wasn't pressed right.

Yep they're pressing out of United now. The first one they did there was the new Soft Metals record.

Arcade Fire - Reflektor

Yep! I was in 6th grade. Everyone else was listening to AFI and Slipknot at the time. -
Arcade Fire - Reflektor

Since we're stating opinions, I'm gonna go ahead and say The Suburbs is my least favorite. It just seemed kinda weak. Funeral has always been my favorite, I remember being like 11 years old and watching the music video for Rebellion on MTV2 before school. Neon Bible actually places second but the weird propaganda/promotion stuff hyping the album up plays a major factor in that. Okay bye. -
Best/Worst Kickstarter Experiences
paralyticstalks replied to piaptk's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I pledged some money to the of Montreal Song Dynasties Kickstarter and so far so good... I got one thing I paid for (limited early recordings on green wax, made to order). I'm starting to get a tad impatient though. I'm sure they won't fuck anyone over, they're real good people. Kevin is probably one of the most down to earth people ever... but the documentary was supposed to be RELEASED this past spring and they aren't even done editing it all together as of now. I just hope it's worth the wait. -
Caught these guys opening for of Montreal a few days ago in D.C. and they blew me away. They're labeled as psychedelic southern rock but I'm getting a Helvetia vibe if Helvetia were a little heavier. There is no preorder yet but I guarantee you don't want to skip out on this. It's really good. I managed to score a pre-release copy and I don't regret it at all. I'm assuming it will go live on this site. Listen to 'The Heat' here.
