  1. I used to live in Austin, and have seen Zookeeper play dozens of times. I can't even describe how pumped I am for the Mineral reunion show, and for his upcoming record, Pink Chalk. Count Your Lucky Stars put up the preorder, and I think Mineral will have some on tour. Here's the PO link: http://countyourluckystars.bigcartel.com/product/pre-order-zookeeper-pink-chalk-lp I'll see Mineral in NYC next week, so I'll try my luck there first. It looks like they have some other bundles with t-shirts, but I can't see what the shirt looks like. You can also stream the album on Spotify. I'm loving it. It's a lot more low key than his past offerings...in a good way.
  2. "Anyone can tell you that being in an instrumental band better mean you are damn good at your instrument and creative enough to compensate for the lack of the vocals. The good news is Recreational Drugs pass with flying colors- which should be of no surprise, given the resume of Matthew Frank (Their/They’re/There, Lifted Bells) and Josh Sparks (Into It. Over It., Former Thieves). Still, in this project they really shine, with movement after movement of contemplative and thoughtful guitar layers and drums that fit together like a puzzle. Recreational Drugs is not a band you just put on in the background to study-on the contrary, Recreational Drugs is a band you stop everything else to study. Think Ghosts and Vodka meets Unwed Sailor." Really excited to finally get to show everyone this. Pre-order goes live on Thursday, record comes out on the 18th.

  5. Annabel and Dowsing are two of the best indie-pop bands today, although you might not know them outside of the “Emo Revival” trend because of the company they keep. Regardless of who they tour with, these two bands feature some of the smartest songwriters in any genre, and this EP is another sterling example why. The pair toured Europe in 2013 and have been label mates since Dowsing joined Count Your Lucky Stars in 2011 with their debut EP All I Could Find Was You. This is first follow up for both bands since their LPs in the last few years and it does not disappoint. Available on Black or Orange Crush, comes with download code. Pressing Info: 150 Black, 350 Orange Crush Track Listing: Side A- Annabel: 1. Annabel - Always 2. Annabel - Forever Side B- Dowsing: 3. Dowsing - Fistful of Hot Wheels 4. Dowsing - World’s Finest Chocolate (How Ya Doin’ Today) Pre-order here

  7. So the lovely Calculator is getting a repress of their sophomore full length, This Will Come to Pass on CYLS, I think it's a pretty good match and awesome to see them get on such a cool label. From the site: Calculator’s “This Will Come to Pass” comes out of the gate swinging and refuses to let up the entire time. A full blistering 30 minutes of raw and emotional punk and hardcore that calls to mind early At the Drive In and Touche Amore. Originally self-released last year, the first pressing sold out quickly and the demand for a rerelease through a label has been high. Plus, the packaging on this is really cool! New presses are: 150 Coke Bottle Clear 350 Transparent Blue http://countyourluckystars.bigcartel.com/product/calculator-this-will-come-to-pass

  11. Hey everybody! We here at Count Your Lucky Stars have just put up the pre-orders for the Certain People I Know LP and CD! Certain People I Know is the latest project fronted by the legendary Bob Nanna. If you don’t already know this band, perhaps you are familiar with their previous works, which include Braid, Hey Mercedes, The City on Film, and The Bomb. If bands walked a linear path, this band picks up where Hey Mercedes left off, while still bringing their own unique sound to the table. The band is rounded out by Damon Atkinson, Jeff Dean, Lauren LoPiccolo, and Matt Schuessler. Certain People I Know's self-titled LP will be available in mid July on Count Your Lucky Stars via vinyl, CD, and digitally, and can be pre-ordered a twww.cylsrecords.com now. Album streaming link: http://soundcloud.co...-people-i-know/ For anybody wondering about their Joie De Vivre and Dowsing albums: Joie De Vivre is in and has shipped if you don't have the Dowsing album ordered with it. The Dowsing albums come in very soon and should ship next week!
