I'm starting to fade away from using Instant Messaging, but I also have my cellphone on me and connected to the Internet. So in my little head, I see Twitter as a replacement for checking people's away messages. Your half-joking/half-serious text above is a reason it can be mundane and useless, but I think it could have some benefits. This is how me and my roommate/friend ali use it...we def. need more ppl in our group...my roommate also uses it for work (he works for the team that dev. ubuntu, so theres ppl all over the world and this is a quick way of them contacting each other) for the people that dont get it...its not just a mini blog...you can twitter via your phone(text) and have your friends who you follow sent to your phone...think of it as push email for a blackberry in that it gets info to a bunch of people quick...its basically a cross between texting and a mass email for me. that said im: http://twitter.com/momentumlost and follow my roommate: http://twitter.com/crossoutmyeyes he refuses to twitter so me and my other roommate twitter for him...and he started reading it...if enough real people follow him he'll start using it...and btw: baby wow= warcraft 3 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
