thebiglebowski
I usually make them by just cutting up bigger boxes. I always cut them with a good amount of extra cardboard on all the edges and wrap all the edges with packing tape to seal it. No one has complained yet that their record was damaged. faith
just sandwich the record between sturdy cardboard pieces and stick it in a bubble mailer that you can find cheap at target/wal-mart
adamlikesmusic
I like those GatorPak mailers. The flat ones that VC and FAT uses. I think you can find a 500 pack on eBay for like $60.

adamlikesmusic
http://www.ccsteven.com/ExpressMailers/GatorPak/gatorpak.html P75969 7.5 x 7.5 with 2” flap (CDsize) 250 $76.00 ------------------- I'm sure you can find them cheaper online, but that is just the first site I found. That is the size for 7"'s, though.

derbsauce
Dude, Bags Unlimited is in Rochester...I we can cut the cost of shipping if I just pick some up while I'm up visiting the wife.
adamlikesmusic
Bags Unlimited is free shipping if you're East of the Mississippi, last I checked. And even west of it, the price isn't too bad. Something like 10% of the total order cost.

Associated Bag/Bags Unlimited has cardboard mailers for more than 2 7"s.

crafty
Can you use the large GatorPak mailers for lps? I usually just make mailers but it is getting ridiculous. WHat is the cheapest thing you can buy to mail LPs (without making them.) Thanks
xxmartinxx
Here's what I've been doing for years and it works great and is cheap as fuck. Order a bunch of these : http://www.bagsunlimited.com/cart/browse.asp?subcat=33 Take two, make a record sandwich, and tape it together. Now go to Office Max/Depot and buy a bunch of these : http://www.officemax.com/omax/catalog/sku.jsp?skuId=20484423&searchString=envelopes&productId=ARS20043&category_Id= Stick your sandwich in there, crease the overhanging envelope at the cardboard, pull it down all the way, tape it, and send it. Cheap cheap cheap. I've sent hundreds of records this way over the years and never had one break.
