hickey
thats a bold statement from a screeching weasel fan Indeed it is. For me, though, My Brain Hurts is a strong second. The Greatest Story Ever Told is, from front to back, a flawless album.
minty
Yes I agree, the Lawrence Arms album "The Greatest Story Ever Told" is indeed a fantastic album!

mediocore
Such a good album (including the ridiculously detailed liner notes).

hickey
if alkaline trio didnt exist.....sure...maybe. Which ALK3 album is better? We're talking start to finish, not just key songs. There isn't one dud on The Greatest Story Ever Told.
murakami
though not punk, Dream Theater - Metropolis: Scenes from a Memory is the best album start to finish i have ever heard

dynamitekid
I personally like Oh Calcutta! better, although this one is much poppier. I would put this album up there with ALK3 S/T but that's a compilation.
dynamitekid
that was sort of two thoughts at once. Sorry.
valentine
The amount of thought that they put into this album is fucking unbelievable. There's one particular riff that is in every single song.

minty
Is this actually a thread about the Lawrence Arms? I thought this was supposed to be a thread about that other band that had an album with the same name...hence my first post!

Nice quote. I'd like a tat with the Larry Arms quote "I know what I've got and I love what I know". And yeah, Chris is a fantastic guitar player and a reallllly nice guy too. goraiders
i might like oh calcutta better, and my favorite LA songs are on cocktails and dreams, but i do love this album
littlejonnyhormone
I only got into the Lawrence Arms about a year or so ago and went nuts over all their material. I agree on the fact that there is so much thought into it. It's a fucking deep record. I have always said I wanted at least half-sleeves some point in life, but I'm extremely picky and could never decide on a tattoo. Is it weird that I am pretty set on getting the flying hourglass at some point even though I've only listened to these guys for a year or so?
