scotterson
anyone have any experience with any? i have a nikon d70s. the nikkor 12-24 is out due to price. i am mainly looking at the sigma 10-20, tokina 12-24, and tokina 11-16. i like the range of the sigma, i think i would use 10mm a lot, and i have a sigma 30 f1.4 that i love. i am leaning on this over the tokina 12-24. the tokina 11-16 is getting great reviews quality wise, and i love the 2.8 aperture, but there is not a lot of range. bah, anyways, input? vinylme
I had the sigma 18mm f3.5 for a long time and loved it. It wasnt a super wide angle thats why i liked it. I did alot of skateboarding photos so i wanted something a little wide but not over bearing.
rhythmgtr5
I took this with my D70 and a sigma 12-24mm f/4.5-5.6. It's much sharper when it's not compressed for web and downsized. I like the lens a lot. 12mm @ f/10 - 1/320s Reviews here: http://www.fredmiranda.com/reviews/showproduct.php?product=184&sort=7&cat=37&page=
lonesomexloveus
i say go with a sigma; i havent owned one but i used to work at a camera store and a lot of people that came in used them and loved them. p.s. the D70s is great. though im biased because that;s what i shoot with, haha. xxmartinxx
If you can't afford the Nikon, go with the Sigma. I've like their lenses I've used with my D90.
scotterson
thanks for the input, and the picture. i am leaning towards the sigma. im really weighing which is more important: 10mm or f2.8. but as i said, i love my sigma, and have never used a tokina. vinylme, i have a 18-70mm which is my main lens, i love it, but am looking for something wider. thanks again, keep it coming! scotterson
m going to expand this. anyone have any experience with underwater cameras/housings? im not necessarily looking for my d70s, as housings can cost as much as entire camera systems, but maybe a good one for a decent/relatively cheap point and shoot. my fiance is looking for a new camera, so i figure ill push her in a direction that will allow for a housing. any thoughts?
