michael
also the disaster known as 'crash romeo' is from my hometown... i liked them when they were called 'cents less' and didn't create music that's solely appealing to 14 year old girls. somehow they're signed to trustkill records, which isn't really saying much. not one good band on that label, ever. Guest adam526
Angel City Outcasts American Hi-Fi Hellogoodbye Yellowcard (Once 'one for the kids' came out they were based in LA, so they count!) They've all moved on and gotten much bigger but their local shows before that time were always cool.
Guest genericinsight
Under The Gun Clearview 77 - http://www.garageband.com/artist/clearview77 What's Your Problem Brian - http://www.myspace.com/wypbmusic I didn't have a lot of local favorites growing up. All the NYC-centric local acts I started getting into formed after I was well out of my teen years. Those 3 were some Brooklyn/Bronx/NYC bands I used to see quite a bit when I was younger and started going to shows regularly. I don't know if any sort of music website exists for Under The Gun. Multiple bands have that name and not the one I'm looking for. Mostly I listened to local bands from other parts of my region (Long Island, Jersey, parts of upstate NY). suburbanargyle
Growing up in Baltimore here's a few I remember: the Gamma Rays (http://www.myspace.com/gammarays) the Heroin Addicts (future members of Dead Mechanical and Sick Sick Birds) Turkish Taffy (really Archers Of Loaf-ish, and they were like 10th graders) Chernobyl Kids (I wanna say some of these guys went on to the Thumbs and now Sick Sick Birds) The Hi-Binders High School Hellcats Supergiant Riviera MD

almightyseancore
Flickerstick from that VH1 reality show/band competition from back in the day the very same. they were a bunch of assholes, but i saw them easily 10 times at various places around town before they went on tv. they were really trying to "hit the big time" with their bleached tips and their leather jackets. i still find myself popping in their first album every now and again. i still enjoy most of it.
