This thread is useless. It was created by someone who has never tried to be a part of this community before now. It doesn't generate discussion among people, it's just pandering for votes for some competition that has no impact on the board or its contributors whatsoever. It's no different than amprobyn telling everyone to buy the magazine she street teams for. By allowing it, it sets a precedent that the board is okay with what is essentially spam.

To be fair, I'd probably have no problem if this thread were created by Dante or Juan or Gabe or Jordan or any one of the hundreds of people who actually have an investment in this place. But why should I support a stranger who obviously isn't concerned with getting to know me?

scott, you don't have to support me. but obviously several other board members have chosen to, and some have invested themselves a great deal. it's because of these kind individuals that i am now in first place. i have nothing but gratitude to those who have accepted that regardless of how many times i post on a message board (that i'm often frightened of being chastised on), it's still alright to be open towards me.

i'm not sure that this is necessarily a dangerous precedent. i posted this in the "everything else" section. is this any more dangerous than the "what drugs have you done?" thread?

i've done nothing but encourage those that are against me as i try to attain something great (in my opinion) to speak up and explain why, and you've done just that, but now i'm finally saying something different...

what's the harm? you don't HAVE to open this thread. you don't HAVE to respond. i haven't set up 80 "FREE VIAGRAZ CIALIS OMG" threads, so focus your attention and valuable time on what interests you rather than what doesn't. you may find yourself to be less stressed that way.

and as for contributing to this board; as i've stated before. i usually lurk around the trade section and have contacted members privately about vinyl. i've not felt the need to join in on any "manly man" conversation.

for those who i've promised updates to... i'm IN FIRST PLACE! this round of voting ends in less than two hours! i'm not entirely sure what's next, but I WILL let you know. thanks for all of your help. it's really meant a lot to me. this whole contest has been (mostly) positive and overwhelming. thank you. thank you. thank you.

scott, also i was just admiring a bulk of your collection. having many similar tastes and your being from cleveland, i assume (hope) you frequent Music Saves. one of the biggest downfalls of moving to bowling green was moving further from kevin and melanie. if you stop in there, and don't already despise me, let them know i miss them.

I know there are going to be several people that won't want to hear this...

The finalists from that round of voting are now up and can be voted on ... again.

While Breaking Bad's creator still picks the winner, voting may or may not be relevant to his decision. AND... all entries start back at 0 votes.

I really am sorry to have to ask for your help again, but if you've invested yourself already and want to see it through, I've got a slightly different link for you...

i really can't afford to do that, scott. if i could, i'd probably first send thank you cash to those who've been slightly more vocally supportive. i am sorry that you can't bring yourself to vote for free, but that's your call, sir.

everyone else, i'm solidly in second place in this final round. we've got until next monday (18th). i just want to make sure i don't fall behind. as imperfect as my entry may appear to some of you, i feel more confident when watching the other finalists.

if you'd like, find me on facebook, and we can spread the word together.

thanks again.

I've tried to avoid overdoing this and annoying you too much, but we're now inside the last five days (120 hours) and I'm barely in fourth place. I know all the hard work that was put into the first round paid off, so if you've got it in you to keep helping through all our little social networking sites (and in real time), please do so. God, I want this.

31.5 hours left as I type this.

Soon, I won't be hounding you, so for one more day, please find it within you to do whatever you can to help. I've fallen to sixth place and that winnie the pooh one is in third.

Thanks, gents.

Just wanted to let you know that as voting closed yesterday, I appeared to officially be in tenth place. Obviously lower than I'd wanted, but (at worst) I won a DVD set I already own and (who knows) can still be reviewed and potentially selected to win the role. They'll announce that on or before June 1st, so I'll let you know.

Thanks again for helping.

I voted for you so many times, I think you should send me the DVD set. ;)

anyone up to date on the second season? a lot going on. still doesnt explain the whole investigation crew at walt's house that's been at the beginning of a lot of episodes. we'll have to see.

Yeah the investigation/burnt pink teddy bear thing is apparently some kind of omen, but no one really knows of what. I personally think that Walt & Jesse cross the wrong dudes and, in order to disappear, fake their own deaths. Of course, the whole incident happens at Walt's house, so his family would have to know what's going on. We'll see.

SPOILER:

I can't believe Walt chose meth over the birth of his baby girl. In the first season if someone told you that either Walt or Jesse would want to quit the business after someone gets gunned down, would anyone have picked Jesse to be that guy?

Also I need some more Hank in these last 2 episodes, I love his character.
