  1. Hey Royce . Interested in selling your Great Big Pile Of Leaves stuff and Depreciation Guild?
  2. Hey all, It's been a long time since I spent any time on these boards, but I'm checking back in to chime in here. I should also forewarn you that I've known the Little Elephant guys for years and can't claim to be unbiased. That said, I've got to say that these lathes sound excellent. I bought sessions from Pinegrove, The City On Film, Into It. Over It., Foxing, Caleb & Carolyn, Cory Branan, Narrow/Arrow, and have yet to pick up my copies of TTNG, CYHSY, Half Waif, Joie De Vivre, or Dolfish. Again, speaking on the sound quality; these things are likely superior to any lathe cut you've ever heard. I don't mean to be hyperbolic; I've just had the same experience as many of you. I know how deeply these guys care about what they do - which has come across in spades for years of their YouTube session and Q&A videos - but that's not the reason I stand by these session lathe cuts. Plainly and simply, they sound very good. Through my Pro-Ject turntable, NAD amp, and Wharfedale bookshelf speakers I notice very little sonic difference when playing a session cut before or after a 180g pressing. I say this only to underscore that I'm not simply spinning these on a Crosley from Target while preaching on sound quality. I will grant you guys that I wish each cut were $12 instead of $15, especially when some have just two songs. But since Little Elephant splits all profits with the bands and these things aren't cheap (or quick) to cut, I don't mind buying the sessions I love. To me, I'm supporting these few guys who I watch work tirelessly out of a house in a Toledo suburb, bringing amazing musicians into the area and giving their fans a unique way to hear the music. Not a paid advertisement. Ha. Do what you want, but I'm a happy, returning customer and I can't wait to see what Little Elephant does next, should these lathe cuts afford them more opportunities. Tim
  3. i don't think i'd like to part with mine, but wanted to let you know that it is indeed a pressing of 700.
  4. uhm. ok. same here. http://www.deadformat.net/tradelist/listenwell
  5. i don't mean to repeat weshallallbe, but you could get all of those owen records (with the seaside cd, as it is not on vinyl) from polyvinyl for under $40 if you use a 10% coupon code i could give you if you message me. tim.
  6. makes this kickstarter project even more relevant. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rockproper/jay-bennetts-whatever-happened-i-apologize-on-vinyl
  7. i thought the abc season worked well. i had faded as a fan because the show just got more and more ridiculous, almost a live action family guy with all the cut scenes and absurdity. the last season was less formulaic, and there were a few episodes that were even touching (without just relying on some sappy singer-songwriter song over a montage). there was one episode that was almost entirely turk and jd sitting in a room talking to a guy who was going to die about death. i too have tired of braff for the most part, but i'm at least curious about the new direction.
  8. Just wanted to let you know that as voting closed yesterday, I appeared to officially be in tenth place. Obviously lower than I'd wanted, but (at worst) I won a DVD set I already own and (who knows) can still be reviewed and potentially selected to win the role. They'll announce that on or before June 1st, so I'll let you know. Thanks again for helping. tim.
  9. 7.5 hours left. barely in tenth place. need any ounce of goodwill left in you. http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad-contest/2009/05/tim-friedman.php tim.
  10. 31.5 hours left as I type this. Soon, I won't be hounding you, so for one more day, please find it within you to do whatever you can to help. I've fallen to sixth place and that winnie the pooh one is in third. Thanks, gents. http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad-contest/2009/05/tim-friedman.php tim.
  11. truth. though, pee-wee's playhouse perfected my childhood.
  12. I've tried to avoid overdoing this and annoying you too much, but we're now inside the last five days (120 hours) and I'm barely in fourth place. I know all the hard work that was put into the first round paid off, so if you've got it in you to keep helping through all our little social networking sites (and in real time), please do so. God, I want this. http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad-contest/2009/05/tim-friedman.php tim. remember, there's a little "share" button under the video to make it easier for you, if you choose to pass this along. i hope, i hope, i hope.
  13. A Night At The Opera is pretty great. Duck Soup was certainly a great way to start out. I actually just got two Marx Brothers box sets and will let you know when I watch more.
  14. i really can't afford to do that, scott. if i could, i'd probably first send thank you cash to those who've been slightly more vocally supportive. i am sorry that you can't bring yourself to vote for free, but that's your call, sir. everyone else, i'm solidly in second place in this final round. we've got until next monday (18th). i just want to make sure i don't fall behind. as imperfect as my entry may appear to some of you, i feel more confident when watching the other finalists. if you'd like, find me on facebook, and we can spread the word together. http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad-contest/2009/05/tim-friedman.php thanks again. tim.
  15. I know there are going to be several people that won't want to hear this... The finalists from that round of voting are now up and can be voted on ... again. While Breaking Bad's creator still picks the winner, voting may or may not be relevant to his decision. AND... all entries start back at 0 votes. I really am sorry to have to ask for your help again, but if you've invested yourself already and want to see it through, I've got a slightly different link for you... http://blogs.amctv.com/breaking-bad-contest/2009/05/tim-friedman.php Let the backlash begin.
