dante3000
Used to. Not so much anymore. I think the last thing I really wrote was a 13 page short story almost a year ago. I really liked it though.

tobinownlife
I write, mostly prose (rants/songs). I can't wait to take a fiction writing class.
casey
I write, mostly prose (rants/songs). I can't wait to take a fiction writing class. Get ready for the most groan-inducing dreck you've ever encountered. I took two creative writing classes and I've never been exposed to more horrific collections of words. The worst was this emo kid. Here are some verbatim quotes from his stories (I remember them because they were so awful): "I realized that since I always wore black and she always wore blue that together, we would always make bruises." "Our love was a lifeboat, but a lifeboat built for one. I threw myself overboard for you." There were some other prizewinners in the class, but that kid was the worst hands-down. We had to critique his story and I just drew a big thumbs-down on the page. Also, yes I do write a bit, but all of my short stories are awaiting endings. I have a major motivation/nervous issue when it comes to writing the last couple pages of a story.

Get ready for the most groan-inducing dreck you've ever encountered. I took two creative writing classes and I've never been exposed to more horrific collections of words. Hahaha. I know exactly what you mean. I have only had one writing class so far and already been subjected to people who try overly hard to use ridiculous words and are way too descriptive. You can tell these people think they are the next David Foster Wallace. My girlfriend has a friend that writes great stuff and it's just simple, funny stories. Creative non-fiction or whatever. Plus he is very down to earth and nice.
tobinownlife
I guess David Foster Wallace was a bad example, I was just trying to think of a talented writer that people would try to emulate instead of coming up with their own style.
steventangent
My creative writing class made me want to stab myself in the eye at 700 miles per hour, that's how bad I hated it. The woman that taught it was dumb as shit, too.
dante3000
Used to. Not so much anymore. I think the last thing I really wrote was a 13 page short story almost a year ago. I really liked it though. Go ahead and post it, I'd read it. Eh, it's based loosely on the premise of the album "Who killed Amanda Palmer"...Actually, it's just a story I made up and used her name as the character. Knowing that, if you still want to plow through 13 pages of my dribble, let me know and I'll upload it somewhere.
thedavidescapeplan
I'm a writer to some degree. I don't really do fiction though. I'm a journalism major so it's a lot of nonfiction, editorials, and i write lyrics for the bands I'm in. Nothing too fancy.
cosmonaut
I write, but my fiction output has been suffering lately. I do a bit of freelance writing and editing on the side, so that takes up most of my writing time.
bryneyancey
I write a little bit of everything. My desire/inspiration to write fiction is really sporadic and unpredictable. Lately I've been doing mostly editorials and other journalistic-type stuff.
jurrobear
I used to write a lot in High School but I've kinda slowed down, I still dream of getting my graphic novel on "Missed Connections" out there.
