n1590
Okay, so the game is simple- -name a favorite band ( especially one that isn't easily pigeon-holed) and apply a label. -tell a story of one of the most ridiculous, made-up genre names a scenester has ever said to you(or overheard on a messageboard) -keep in mind that this is NOT a serious topic. I'll start off- Minus the bear- Barbeque-core. I was at a picnic recently and on the shuffle Minus the bears absinthe party came on. It seemed so Damn fitting. skumbucket
chuck ragan is "lumberjack-core" to me. and i think scott's naming of the blood brothers as sass-core is still my favourite.
tomoleksy
I have a friend that opts to call HORSE the band "Scream-tendo" rather than the less creative Nintendo-Core.

I'm still stoked that it caught on. I've been lucky enough to create a handful of things that will live on for a long time, like that or calling Ted Leo the motherfucking man. When I'm dead and buried, those will still live on.

scotterson
isnt everything going to end up as something core lol! me and my friend played some awful hardcore songs in high school (as a joke...songs included: i do what i want becuase i can and no one can stop me; i hate everyone) anyways, i lovingly referred to it as 'crapcore'. i also started labeling all my ripped cd's as chyeahcore and awexome. i just hated genres.
