chiefwahoo
Pearl Jam's ode to vinyl is amazing. Hard to believe someone put my love for vinyl into words. Anyone who hasn't heard it needs to track it down immediately. Same goes for anyone who didn't know what it was about. Don't even bring up the alleged "it's about drugs" thing, either. Only non-vinyl enthusiasts would believe that. Then again, I don't do drugs... Anyways, let's hear it for this fantastic song!!

jhulud
see this needle...a see my hand... drop, drop, dropping it down...oh, so gently... well here it comes...i touch the plane... turn me up...won't turn you away... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin...spin the black, spin the black... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin...whoa... pull it out...a paper sleeve... oh, my joy...only you deserve conceit... i'm so big...a-my whole world... i'd rather you...rather you...than her... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin...spin the black, spin the black... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin...whoa...oh... you're so warm...oh, the ritual...when i lay down your crooked arm... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin...spin the black, spin the black... spin, spin...spin the black circle spin, spin... spin the black circle spin the black circle... spin, spin... spin, spin... robotnerd
I heard somewhere that when they released "Vitology" they released it on vinyl only but then buckled under pressure by the label....? that's definately not true. it's possible they WANTED to only release it on vinyl. but i bought it on cd the day it was released, so it was never released as vinyl only. ronniethebear
A true example of a record intended to be heard on vinyl.

The vinyl was released two weeks before the CD. That might be how the rumor got started. Did anybody else buy major label releases in the 90s? I sure miss the vinyl occasionally coming out AHEAD of the CD. Hell, I miss vinyl coming out at the same time as the CD. It seems like we have to wait weeks, months, or years for the vinyl versions anymore.
