kirbypuckett
Anyone going to any of his shows? I'd appreciate it if you could pick me up a copy of the covers CD. Let me know!
jacobe
I love the first 2 DC EPs and the first album & 1/2. Some of the stuff on the cover LP is ace (grade, movielife)....but the Afghan Whigs cover made me want to jump into my CD player and stab him. chiefwahoo
He did a Whigs cover? Oh man, I have to hear that. What song? I'm guessing my reaction will be similar to yours
jacobe
He did "Crazy". The thing that kills it is the fact that he tries to work his voice to a Dulli-esque tone...only he hasn't been drinking/smoking/fucking/screaming like Dulli has his whole life. It comes off as comical to me, but it's probably because I'm such a Whigs fan. I did like the New Amsterdams cover though from their first album. kirbypuckett
The Regina Spektor cover makes me cringe. It was not meant for a dude to sing.
jacobe
The Regina Spektor cover makes me cringe. It was not meant for a dude to sing. That was one of the only songs I wasn't already familiar with.

Well, at least he tried to tackle a song with mellow vocals. But there's no channeling Dulli. I can't wait to download this just to hear how bad it actually is

katie
It's ok. Not nearly as good as I wanted it to be. Then, I've never been an enormous DC fan.

skumbucket
The Regina Spektor cover makes me cringe. It was not meant for a dude to sing. most of dashboard's songs weren't meant for dudes to sing! that is to say, he has a very high-pitched voice. also, huge foul for the whigs cover. it ain't right.
