ronniethebear
Fucking ridiculous. If I could find a way to come into close proximity of that stamp, I'd lick it and stick it on my dick.
riddle350
I can't even begin to imagine having that much money let alone being able to spend it on a fucking stamp.

dante3000
Who here has seen Brewster's Millions? Best use of a rare stamp ever. The best part is the dude didn't want to be ID'd. Probably because he's embarrassed to be that big of a tool. I would spend no more than $250 for my white whale. That's my limit on anything that doesn't serve a function (i.e. a TV is worth more because that's the market cost, a stamp that cost $0.24 new is not worth that much). thomas
When my Grandfather died a few months back, he left my Dad and I his stamp collection. We have not had time to get any prices, but he has collectors sets and stamps that go back a long way. I don't remember what collectors series it is, but he has the full set from when they started putting them out in like the 40's.
captainmorgan
"This is the Rolls-Royce," Shoemaker said. "It's the most expensive airmail stamp in the world." Hehehe. I wonder what the "Rolls-Royce" of vinyl records is.

I don't remember what collectors series it is, but he has the full set from when they started putting them out in like the 40's. My Grandfather also has an extensive stamp collection. I think it is kind of a dying hobby though.

Ahh, I thought I remembered hearing something about that. Even still, 35,000 off of a 75 cent investment is sweet any way you look at it. skumbucket
i'd love to understand this sort of thing. but i just don't. even as a collector of something that almost always has an inflated value, i just don't get it.
