monk0nuggets
So, I'm sitting here a mile from the beach in Chatham on Cape Cod, and Earl is supposed to be dropping by tomorrow between 2pm and 2am. Should be interesting.

monk0nuggets
If I had to pick any hurricane to experience, I would pick Earl just for the name. I hope it doesn't hurt my car.

mcm1610
The only hurricane I've "experienced" was when I was like 7 or something, we went to the Outer Banks in NC and some mega hurricane hit the day we left. All week long it was AWESOME because the waves were way over my head. I had so much fun. But I left before it really hit so I've never been in a hurricane. My aunt/uncle have a couple boats - one is a 30-something foot sailboat they keep in Salem Harbor, MA. It's fairly old now, and it constantly has problems so they half joke about getting rid of it all the time. The last time a hurricane made it up there, it broke the mooring line and the boat floated around and gently rested on some smooth rocks. My aunt was like, "DAMMIT! Why couldn't it just sink so we could get some insurance money?!" Sadly, it's not in the water this year so they don't have a shot this time around. Its nice to have a little time to cruise the internets again.

Duff
if they decide to issue mandatory evacuations be prepared to get fucked by traffic.
devinr
I experienced a couple of hurricanes when i lived in Florida. It was really interesting. I didn't evacuate for Katrina or Rita. I received five days paid off of work during Rita which was cool but I couldn't do anything. I drank a lot of whiskey that was about it. Rita messed my car up pretty bad though which was not cool. monk0nuggets
I really hope my car will be fine. It's going to be paid off next month.
devinr
My car got damaged from pieces of the roofing from my apartment complex being torn off. It dinged the shit out of my car and cracked my windshield. If it weren't for those coming loose it'd of been fine. Just be careful where you park it. monk0nuggets
Earlier was a false alarm. He's finally starting to arrive with some breezy rain. I guess the eye is going to miss the Cape by 100 miles, but we are still going to feel it throughout the night. Anyone else seeing any of this? rtw88
My town got wrecked by a hurricane when I was in high school. No electricity for 2 weeks and no school for a month. Lots of people had barbecues though, so that was rad.
