oakland
In blind tests most people choose the sound of a high-quality cassette over both CDs and records.

jimmythescumbag
I am down with tapes. You can get up to 120 minutes of music on a tape, and they are usually the same price as most 7"s.

bill
Tapes rule, I probably own a few hundred and I listen them pretty much every week. My walkman gets far more use than my mp3 player, I like the sound a lot better but that's probably because I grew up with tapes
Guest markovianprocess
I like them. It can be a very cost effective/fun way to release your music.
Dillhole
I don't like them. I've had so many get eaten up in the past. Ugh. I even had a couple melt from being in my car. They can sound damn good through good equipment though. I'll just stick with records and cds, plus I have no way to play them anymore. punkrudeboy
When I was streamlining first thing to go was my cassette player. Now I'm just down to my records and Ipod.

thisisyourliferva
They are super cheap and still have great art. They are also a great release means for smaller bands, and can be quite collectible with customized small runs.
Guest markovianprocess
I have a box of them under my bed. My record player has a built in tape player, so I still play them when I get the chance. I like how easy they are to produce, and how much content you can fit onto them despite how cheap they are. I wish more bands (other than hardcore) released them.
lonesomexloveus
i have no way to play them. nor do i have the desire to 'collect' another form of media. i already don't have enough space for all my crap.
kurtz
I wish more bands (other than hardcore) released them. Start listening to black metal or noise/experimental music. You'll have more tapes than you can handle in no time!

Guest
I have a bag full of tapes and they are all awesome. Half of them are warped or otherwise marred by some kind of damage. I love them because I don't have to care about them.
eddieruckus
i like em... I only have a handful but thats because I dont have a tape player... if I did I would own a ton more
jcamps
scored a ton of weird al tapes at goodwill outlets, 5/$1 cannot be beat!
deafmx
cool to relive the past with all the demos and stuff collected in the 80's and 90's. not cool to pay $10 for a tape now though, especially limited "collectible" releases tape labels are doing. I've been playing a bunch in my work van the past year, it's been fun. I have a bunch of good old tapes and some great cheeseball stuff too.
