Anyone wanna start a label?

lets examine this shall we.

been thinking about it for a REALLY long time... I'm sick of the industry,

its pretty easy to avoid the "industry" part ... just don't listen to the radio, buy their music, or go to shows at corporate venues.

I'm sick of the music,

um so don't listen to it?

I'm sick of people who deserve to be heard being forced out of playing music because they are not "marketable"...

no one deserves to be heard. music is art, people are free to embrace and enjoy it or not. Everyone has a right to create, but no one is owed anything. Marketable generally = accessable to the greater public. As much as we'd like to think otherwise, the underground artists we enjoy are not as marketable to the masses because they are not what the masses want to hear... i love Bomb the music industry!, but they will most likely never have sorority girls shaking their asses at the club like miley cyrus does.

With tools like Kickstart, I have come to the conclusion that I'd be an idiot if I didn't try to do this.

or you can do what the rest of us did, and put your own money where your mouth is, stop complaining and put out a record.. you tend to work harder when you're ability to eat and pay the rent rests on you moving units.

Anyone want to get together and start an indy label and give artists what they deserve?

remember indie just means "not a major" it doesn't make them any less scummy than the big guys, and in most cases are probably actually worse because they fall under the guise of part of the scene... cough cough victory.

fuck the co op.

solid idea, executed poorly.... but stating this doesn't seem to make sense with the rest of your poorly structured argument... as the co-op is an indie label.

Let's examine this, shall we?

No matter how big, small, independent, corporate or otherwise an entity or vehicle for the deliverance of a product (in this case music) to the public is, it is all part of the same industry. The product is the same, music, it just appeals a different sector of the same market, music listeners. Seems rater difficult to avoid lest you shut your ears off entirely, no?

Saying otherwise is like saying a Norman Rockwell gallery is a separate industry from a no-name shop selling paintings from an obscure local artist.

You're all industry whores whether you care to admit it or not. So Up teh punx or whatever makes it feel better for you.

That said; OP, kick start your own shit with your savings account. This isn't the NYSE.
