rocknroll76
I have two versions of the danzig boot. The green vinyl one looks amazing...the labels, the sleeve, everything, but doesn't sound as good as the black vinyl one I have (with a blue cover). tokyochaser
The Danzig 7" actually was originally an OFFICIAL misfits fan club release, but is rare and costs a lot, so current stuff you see for sale are bootlegs. Operation Ivy Unity collection is a bootleg collection of bootleg 7"s and EPS..the quality of the Ramones EP is awful, and IMO is unlisten-able even as a hardcore fan. The rest of the songs vary in quality but remember these are not going to be the quality of the Energy studio tracks.

themean
Operation Ivy Unity collection is a bootleg collection of bootleg 7"s and EPS. Just for the record, the original "Plea For Peace" and "'69 Newport" 7"s were not boots.

Who released the legit version?
ihprstl
So if these are indeed bootlegs, how can a legit distributor get away with selling them?

"'69 Newport" was released by David Hayes, but not on Very Small. "Plea For Peace" (the original pressing, I think of 1000) was released by a couple friends of the band with the band's permission. It included a booklet with some good Cometbus stories about the band.

The VSR version is black only and limited to 5,000something. The original Plea For Peace 7" you are right on, also original pressing was on white vinyl. Also David Hayes released the Seedy CD on Very Small too, but as a joke titled it as "Karma Kredit Records" He pressed like 10,000 of those things. David Hayes was doing Very Small Records at the time he released it, but it was released without any record label info on it, which would seem to be a deliberate attempt to not make it a Very Small release. Doesn't really matter much, though.

tre
So if these are indeed bootlegs, how can a legit distributor get away with selling them? A better question, "How does a legit person get away with buying them?" Hmmm
robx
I can't tell how much of this thread is sarcasm. yeah dude, you're buying "who killed marilyn" for 6 bucks. I'm sure that's just dead stock of a $200 record.
