kirbypuckett
Danny Sabu is going no where, he'll be a Penguin next year, Ty Conklin won't. Christensen is the only likely Penguin I see being traded on the roster.
mcm1610
I'm pretty excited to see "Big Bear" Bernier come to Buffalo . First of all... anyone with the nickname "Big Bear" is ok in my book, and second, he is everything the Sabres are not... big, tough, and aggressive. Maybe he'll inspire the team to throw their weight around like Kaleta has been doing. I'm not too excited to see Paetsch back in full-time... hopefully Darcy squeezes in a second deal in the next 20 minutes for another defensive devenseman. Campbell sucked at playing actual defense, and we have plenty of offense, so I'm not that sad to see him leave.
mcm1610
Haha I just noticed Foote is back to Colorado, too. Are they trying to rebuild the glory days or something?
patron
Mats Sundin would not waive his no trade clause and will stay in Toronto, stand up guy. Thanks to this, I might be the winner of a free Sundin jersey.

kirbypuckett
omfg. The rumor is that the Pens just got Hossa!!!!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I CANNOT BELIEVE WE JUST TRADED AWAY ARMSTRONG/CHRISTIENSEN/ESPISTO FOR HOSSA
mcm1610
Jesus... for what? The Pens have more young talent than anyone, and now Hossa? If they didn't give up anyone, they're stacked, especially when Crosby comes back.
mcm1610
Oh ^ Good... at least they gave up some talent for that rental. Dumb move, I think.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I FUCKING HATE THIS. HOSSA IS NOT STAYING AFTER MAY. HE WILL LEAVE AND WE LOSE 3 YOUNG PLAYERS! FUCK THIS.
skumbucket
it's confirmed: The biggest name available at the NHL's trade deadline has joined one of the league's best young teams.A source tells The Canadian Press that the Pittsburgh Penguins have acquired Marian Hossa from the Atlanta Thrashers. The Penguins also receive forward Pascal Dupuis in exchange for forwards Angelo Esposito, Erik Christensen, Colby Armstrong and a first-round draft pick in a blockbuster deal just minutes before the 3 p.m. ET deadline. The 29-year-old Hossa is set to become an unrestricted free agent this summer so Thrashers GM Don Waddell decided to deal him after being unable to get his name on a contract extension. He joins a Penguins team that includes league scoring leader Evgeni Malkin and superstar Sidney Crosby, who has been sidelined the past several weeks with a high ankle sprain. Hossa has 26 goals and 56 points in 60 games this season.
kirbypuckett
We gave up a 1st round pick too, ugh. I don't like this UNLESS Shero has some master plan to resign Hossa. We gave up 1st, 2nd, and 5th round picks in a DEEP draft. UGH. Oh well, once Crosby's back we won't lose another game, EVER.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
think about these two line though... Hossa, Crosby, Talbot Malone, Malkin, Sykora we now will be unstoppable. even at the cost of my favorite little pen Armstrong
skumbucket
one more: The Detroit Red Wings have added a veteran defenceman for the stretch drive.Detroit acquired Brad Stuart from the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday for a second-round pick and a fourth-round selection. Stuart, 28, has 21 points (5-16) in 63 games this season.
swankymodes
Prospal went to Philly from Tampa Bay for Picard and a pick in 2009. In true Flyers fashion, trade a guy when he's young and then bring him back to the team after his good years are over.

lpzgangsta
The Penguins also got Pascal Dupuis but they still grossly overpaid for a potential rental in Hossa
jbrns7
If Hossa performs well and gets along with the guys in the locker room they'll resign him. The cap is going up next year, we've got a new arena on the way, and everyone knows that Malkin is gone once his contract is up.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Malkin will get re-signed over the summer. the more I think about it, christiansen hasn't played the last 5 games and hasnt been too productive and armstrong hasnt been the most productive player iether.. and our farm system is so deep with players of equal potential to them that trading them for Hossa is a pretty good trade seeing as how the last 4 seasons he's had 80+ points
jbrns7
the longer crosby's out and the more malkin performs, the less likely he'll stay. you think once crosby gets back and once again gets all the points that malkin will be okay with that? he loves being the star. sure it'll be ok this season, but in the long run no way. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
wonder what he'd rather do, win cups with crosby or score points with a loser team. staying here is going to bring him championships.

jbrns7
well the rookie mistakes Fleury keeps making have to stop next year, or they won't win anything. I say if he doesnt shape up next year, dump his ass. He's had more than enough time to get used to the system and being in the NHL.

jbrns7
Can we give it up for Ray Shero as well? This guy isn't afraid to make moves whatsoever year in and out and is a welcome change to a Pittsburgh town that falls flat on its face in other sports when it comes to making deals.
