GradedOnACurve
^ Yeah the broken english does make it confusing. I'll probably park myself at the venues of bands I really want to see. Otherwise I'm going to find a lot of things to do!

hudsoncomplex
capacity thing is bullshit This. And Kyle, I haven't seen Dustin to get that amp thing. Looks like a Pouzza trade is probably in the works.

hudsoncomplex
If it's bullshit don't go. Sounds like you're not interested in any of the main shows.
crime
I'm interested in having a good time that's all. Outside of Classics Of Love and Horrace Pinker there isn't a band there that I want to see that I haven't already seen at least 5 times. If I see them again sweet, if not oh well I'll check out some bands I don't know and maybe I'll see someone I really like. No sense in being a negative bitch about something you have no control over. If you really want to see a band buy a damn ticket. Otherwise quit your bitching. NXNE runs the exact same way and it's one of the biggest and most successful festivals in north america. You can't expect a promoter to pull together all of these bands and just charge people $40 to see them all.
GradedOnACurve
^ No one is going into a long bitch tangent, just saying it may end up being a clusterfuck and it'd be nice to be sure you get into the show you want. No one has pitchforks here relax dude.
hudsoncomplex
So, I'm not able to come to Pouzza anymore. We rushed my dog to the vet today and we're looking at about $2k worth of vet bills. I'm so bummed right now it's unbelievable.
tonyregret
So stoked for this! I have a question. I'm coming up from the states for this. Will I need to get some Canadian currency or is the US dollar readily accepted? I don't think it will be a problem for merch at the Fest but as far as shopping in Montreal goes. crime
Get Canadian money, unless you want to use credit/debit.

crime
Just as a quick aside. Why do Americans always assume that Canadian businesses will take American currency?
GradedOnACurve
I think its because people expect Canada to be like the Caribbean where you could use the dollar in a lot of places.
crime
Seriously? That's just playing right into the typical American stereotype and is honestly a bit offensive as a Canadian.

crime
If you're in town for the Fest skip the mission to Sound Central. My girlfriend and I just gor back from a walk up there and they had a really disappointing selection of punk/hardcore vinyl.

crime
Thursday night my girlfriend and I were walking around exploring the city and we came across the protest twice. Honestly it was a bit breath taking to see up close and personal. Last night we just saw it on tv at one of the venues. It's all happening in and around the res where the majority of people are staying.
crime
Forgot to add. We didn't have a problem getting into any show last night with just our wristbands. Caught all 8 bands we wanted to see. I did hear a lot of people complaining that some of the venues were "sold out" and they weren't letting any one else in. Alos heard people complaining that they showed up to the Hot Water Music show and told if they wanted to get in they had to pay $30 because they weren't taking any more wristbands. Which is sort of bullshit. One thing that did piss me off, is one of the venues said the PBR was for bands only. YEt PBR is a damn sponsor of the festival. That was stupid as hell.
