collectivemike Posted May 2, 2012 Share Posted May 2, 2012 Not at all, it would make the regular season mean something, teams would try harder to actually make the playoffs, possibly meaning that one of the same tams wouldnt make the playoffs. The talent pool in the NBA isn't big enuogh for that. Throughout an 82 game season, even if the Charlotte Bobcats gave 150% and the Heat gave 1% they'd still end up in the playoffs over them. You'd maybe get one sleeper in the playoffs, but besides that it'd stay the same. Then teams that are pretty good (like Memphis or the Clippers wouldn't make the playoffs and at least have the chance to make a deep run. Now if you want to condense the season, I'd be all for cutting the # of teams in the playoffs back. That way every game would actually matter!
