selfreliable
I never was able to get into these guys, but to see a long running band call it quits for this reason is terrible. Tony always seemed like a good guy from interviews and what others say/said about him and wish his family and friends plenty of help in this time for them. tittus
Yeah, I think everyone pretty much new this was coming. Still hurts the same.
almightyseancore
did they ever announce HOW he died? i don't think i ever heard that part.
booyahachieved
Not that I'm aware of. If a toxicology was involved that could take a while.
xjustinxschwierx
pure speculation, but I'm guessing it was a suicide or a drug overdose, hence the silence about what happened in respect for what happened and not tarnishing his legacy. hudsoncomplex
Fat Wreck did post that he passed "peachfully in his sleep". I don't think we'll ever really know.
almightyseancore
Fat Wreck did post that he passed "peachfully in his sleep". I don't think we'll ever really know. could easily have been a suicide in this case, accidental even. in sleep deaths, toxicology can take a long time. it could take months. sickteen
Tony's untimely demise really shocked me, when I read about it. Rest in peace. The music No Use For A Name made will live on. And it should. Great band.
beardacus
The news of his passing completely blindsided me. It was absolutely the worst news to wake up to. The night before he died, I saw Joey Cape live here in Charleston. It was the only stop on his mini tour without either Tony (Sly) or Jon (Snodgrass) co-headlining. Joey and I talked for a good bit before and after his set, about anything and everything. Joey's quite possibly the nicest person you'll ever meet. But, I digress. It's crazy to think that I could have seen Tony live for my first, and sadly, last time if he would have made the trip to Charleston.
