Can't beat free. My friend signed up for Groupon using my link and I'm tempted to have her buy one for me so then I'll get an extra $10 from Groupon through their referral program, which I'd use to buy a third... then it'd be $20 out of my pocket for $45 at Amoeba. But the question I have is, could I bring all 3 with me to Amoeba and use it in one transaction? Or are the people that are buying more than one just planning on going multiple times? As for solution #2- I'm too much of a rule follower to do that. Don't get me wrong- it's not a moral thing... It's a "I'm a huge pushover so the idea of having to have an awkward conversation with an employee is enough to deter me" thing. But it is a good idea. When I checked out the employee at the register just let me split it into two transactions. Dunno if this is standard practice or the employee was just cool.
