bigbruise
no but seriously, are AA more expensive or something. I hate buying Gildan, I air dry all my tees, but even a fucking Gildan will shrink. I'm too big for that shit.
Derek™
So if we were to print on Gildan, we lost 2 customers. bigbruise

I'm too big for that shit. It's not just you. There comes a point when you realize just how awesome AA or a good tri-blend shirt feels and holds up over time. I'll actually be more likely to fork over an additional $2.00 or $5.00 if the brand is AA instead of Gildan. I also find that I never wear my Gildan shirts much these days; they just don't age well. abovetheearth
Gildan is no go for me. It's like wearing a shirt made of fiberglass and sandpaper.
Derek™
Gildan is no go for me. It's like wearing a shirt made of fiberglass and sandpaper. Absolutely this. After a few washes I feel like I'm wearing a pair of cardboard slabs hung from my shoulders.
000000
Agreed, Gildan blows. Spring for the AA, it's loads more comfy and worth the extra few bucks. Not to be confused with AAA, which is worse than Gildan and shrinks like nobody's business (in my opinion).
Derek™
Yeah, AA = American Apparel = the bee's knees. So there's no confusion. veggiecorecords
bigbruise
The people have spoke Casey. I only have AAA, at least that's what I thought. Didn't even know about AA.
bigbruise
ohhhh, AA. That's for skinny people amitirite? I don't like tight ass tees.
Derek™
AA comes in regular or slim-fit sizes, as I'm sure a lot of brands do. Either one work for me. I can guarantee that you'd love a regular large / XL / XXL American Apparel shirt, though.
abovetheearth
The 50/50 AA is the most comfortable wear I have ever worn. I would pay more for this.
bigbruise
ahh ok. I always buy XL, because I like my tees to a little longer than normal. For fear of shrinking really, but like I said, I air dry my shit to avoid it.
bigbruise
also, whatever topshelf prints their shirts on, that super soft, almost see through tee. Hell no, it's skin tight and not made for my body type.

I would have agreed with this one year ago, but I've since then acquired a tri-blend that more or less blows my mind every time I slip it on. I need to find some boxer-briefs of the same material. Rip
Would buy a shirt. Whatever design you choose to get printed. I've liked all of them so far. Especially the PBR one. As for the kind of shirt, it doesn't really matter to me. It seems like every shirt seems to fit me differently, but not in a bad way. The only thing I hate is when the sleeves seem big compared to the length of the shirt. That probably doesn't make sense, but oh well. mutinyzine
The first design is the best. I'd buy one of those.
yocaseycasey
Thanks for all of the insight. Wholesale costs for AA are a little much for a start-up, but I found a good ring-spun shirt that I am going to try for the first run. It's not a $10 shirt, but it's not a $3 shirt either, so we'll see how it works. Hopefully the compromise will appeal to everyone. We will be printing the Thunderbeard logo, and the PBR logo. These will be available on the Thunderbeard Records site in the coming weeks, and will definitely be available when the YMAEWK 7" goes up.
