Initially composed to be played as a live soundtrack (like at Roadburn Festival 2011 for example) on Carl Dreyer's "Vampyr" (silent film from 1932), this long musical piece was finally recorded in february 2012. The result is not a new YEAR OF NO LIGHT album but a long new track (72 minutes) with YEAR OF NO LIGHT classic heavy riffs mixed with more experimental and drone tunes that can remind us their collaborative records with NADJA or THISQUIETARMY. The record is a double vinyl including a CD version of the long track to listen to it in an one-time session.
PRESSING INFOS : 1.000 copies (150 on grey vinyl, 150 on white vinyl and 700 on black vinyl)
RELEASE DATE : 7th of May 2013

I got mine two days ago..  looks and sounds amazing..  grey with splatter.

my cover was a bit roughed up though..

Got the grey version yesterday. I hate to be a negative person, but this is by far the worst sounding new record i have ever listened. Lots of cracks and background noise in every minute of every song.

 

The release looks beautiful and luckily it includes a cd version too so i'm still happy that i got this. But i'm really sad about the sound quality of the vinyl... I also got the black version of Ausserwelt and it has bad cracks and pops too... I quess i just had a bad luck.

 

But don't get me wrong, i really respect the work that musicfearsatan is doing.

 

Vampyr is one of the best albums this year. I actually synced it with the movie and it was an awesome experience.

hey peeps, can someone confirm whether black copies suffer from the same surface noise issue or not? I own a beautiful grey copy but that noise somehow ruins the atmosphere of this awesome record a bit
